Which upcoming albums are you looking forward to in 2011?
« on: January 06, 2011, 09:09:59 PM »
I'm posting this topic so I can see what new albums people excited about in 2011. Maybe I can find some new music to check out, as well.

New music I'm ready for in 2011:

Foo Fighter's Summer 2011 - From what's being said, this is sounding like it will be the best Foo's album yet.

Alice In Chains in late 2011

Soundgarden possibly 2011 or later.

Aerosmith are releasing an "Old school rock album" at some point. I am not an Aerosmith fan, but I heard the classic tune Last Child on a movie the other night, and I remembered how great their early stuff is.

And this is gonna sound lame, but I want to see if Our Lady Peace can manage to make at least one more good sounding album. They are also due in 2011.
You dirty pirate hooker. Go back to your home on Whore Island!

The Strokes and Thrice!!!
When I talked to Ben of Mumford and Sons he said they'd start working on their album this year, but I don't know if that means it's going to be released in 2011, doubt it though.

The Offspring is supposed to come out with a new album, but they're working with Bob Rock and he's possibly the slowest producer of all time.

Also the album will probably suck. The new song they've played sounds way too much like a Foo Fighters song....

Eh, I dunno...

"Holding On To Strings Better Left to Fray" by Seether is the only definite one so far.

And I guess the rumored ones:
Alice in Chains
Soundgarden
STP

NAh they're ok tho

For me...

1. The Strokes
2. The Strokes
3. The Strokes

i dont see STP getting an album out this year maybe 2012 before the world ends

When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.

Foo Fighters, RHCP, STP, Bush, Cage the Elephant, and I think Modest Mouse could be releasing an album. Those are the only albums I am really going to care about, probably because 99% of the other ones will suck.

Foo Fighters should be a bit earlier than summer, I think they've already finished it..

Bush is exciting.  What kind of sound will it have, will they be able to live up to it...?

If STP release in 2011 they're gonna be touring for 2 years straight!  But I want it obviously..

The Strokes  8) 8) 8) 8)

Alice in Chains - they're on a roll.

Soundgarden - come on guys, hurry up.  Look at STP as to how a "reunion" should be done  ;)

alice in chains is definitely ballin out and getting the most respect from the 90's bands in regards to a comeback. however in regards to aylin's  comment, i wouldnt say "look at STP as to how a reunion tour should be done"..... one weiland was too fucked up at way to many shows, he admitted he was a full blown alchy again, they played the SAME FUCKING SETLIST every single show for months.... they have plenty of songs they could throw in with their usual hits that people would still enjoy. and they did not have great turnouts for a number of shows... not sure if that is how an ideal reunion should be. soundgarden is garbage now though ha

I do agree with you...Scott was inconsistent, and the setlists were the same.

I actually meant the reunion itself was done well...tour, good new album, tv apperarences, more tour, south america tour, first Australia tour (hopefully) etc.  Not "yeah we're reunited, here's a greatest hits, we'll play a gig in Seattle for our real fans (I hate the Seattle ego trip, they have to get over it), and just wait for a new album..."

AIC did a good job.  Great album, great tour.  And all with having to face the "Layne replacement" issue (I love AIC and am happy that they're carrying on, and Duvall has a fine voice, but I'm personally not all too impressed with his performance of old AIC songs, pisses me off and makes me miss Layne even more, but that's just my opinion).

With STP, unfortunately I think that this is the best we could have possibly expected from them untill Scott clears up his problems.  Well done to Dean, Rob and Erik for hanging in and filling the gaps.  Again, my own opinion.
