Only Dying is just completely AWESOME...but I understand why they pulled it from The Crow soundtrack.

I think the next release from Atlantic records should be the release of Scott and Eric from that contractual prison they're in.

I agree that Only Dying would have only fit on the Core album. Sound is way too different from anything they've done since. In fact, if they released it today I don't think it would do very well. Today's crowd doesn't go for that sound at all anymore.

A return to the purple/no. 4 sound would be welcomed. As much as I love a lot of songs on SLDD, they need to stay away from that sound for a while.

Also...re-record "Fast as I Can", "Love Machine" and "Spanish Flies" and put them on the new album or release them on a B-Sides/Rarities album.

STP is all about diversity. Having some hard rockin' funk in there wouldn't be so bad.

I've payed more attention to this song's lyrics lately, and it makes me wonder what compelled Scott to write them so sorrowfully. What's the meaning of the song? Is the story unveiled in it fictitious or was there something that actually harrowed Scott?

Isn't "Spanish Flies" the one where Scott goes "She said she'd be my woman. She said she'd be my man?"
I don't really think they would release that since that's the same part as "Lounge Fly" and people will think Scott ran out of lyrics and got lazy...unless he changes it up like he did with "Beautiful Day" with that little bridge before the chorus

The guitar solo towards the end sounds a little bit like the guitar solo in "Sin"... does anybody else hear that?

I think what we should do is try and somehow try and circulate it to some radio station or another or somehow get people to believe this is a new song...make it like a leaked single or something.
