and...i dont like the video...
Look I just want to go out sometime you know.  Like normal people, spend time together and enjoy each other's company. Like best friends.  Like lovers that care.  Who actually respect the relationship you know?"

Big Bang Baby is one of my top three or four STP songs.....

DOTW would be the weakest, but Heaven and Hotrods after that (even though I love the song).

DOTW - without question.  Followed closely by H&H and Sour.  I've never liked Sour Girl.  Too hokey.

What's up with all the BBB responses?  Strange.

How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

Well, if we're going to go with a single that's a poor representative of the album, I think I'd have to go with Trippin'. It's the only straight up rock song off of Tiny Music....

Don't forget Pop's Love Suicide and Tumble in the Rough. Those songs know how to rock.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

for me it wasn't even like expecting rock and then getting pop.  i just heard the song on the radio and was a bit appalled by it BEFORE I even knew it was STP.

They do rock, but their very poppy too. I believe Scott himself described the opening of the album as almost "power pop", so they're much closer to Big Bang Baby then they are to Trippin'.

I'm not dissing Trippin' though, that's one of the songs that got me into STP.
Grab the hate and drown it out...

Hollywood Bitch, No Way Out

Coma should have replaced Hollywood Bitch, and Glide should have replaced No Way Out

Why does everyone hate DOTW so much?  Sure it can't be compared to Plush or Big Empty, but it is a pretty good song I think.

This is why I said to omit DOTW, lol.
I know I want what\'s on my mind.

Yeah, well-intentioned but completely misguided imho.

I think it's a great song, great video but was never a good single as it stood. A little longer with an intro to establish the hook, could have worked. But, as I've said before, I don't think SLDD had singles on it. It just wasn't that kind of album.

DOTW doesn't show anything from them that we haven't seen better before and is a terrible representation of SLDD. With that in mind, it's their worst single. The song feels so forced from them.

Pretty Penny was just a pretty stupid idea for a single. So was Big Bang Baby. STP are either the bravest band of the 90s or the stupidest. Yeah, Purple did so well, sold a shitload of copies after a short amount of time, critics liked it and no longer thought they were a Pearl Jam ripoff, the singles did well.... And for the first single off of your new record, you have it be a ripoff of one of the most well known songs of all time. Oh STP, those rascals.

Hollywood Bitch isn't really a good idea for a single either, so I'd throw that in there. Other than that, I really don't have vegetables with any of their singles. Really I think most of them were very good choices.
