Radio people make up shit. 

I heard on the radio yesterday that Scott Weiland missed the gig because he was arrested for drugs in the airport.  Dont believe everything you hear. 

That said, I think VR will do one more album before they part ways.  According to Slash, that is already the plan.

Scott is known to run his mouth about things that may or may not happen, or will happen but much later than he says. 

Until we have an official press announcement or pictures from a surprise STP show (like they did at the beginning of the No.4 tour), I wont believe anything.

Possible 2008 Reunion
On January 20, 2008, a Miami Herald blog reported that Scott said that the public "should be on the lookout for an STP reunion in the coming months." Billy Morrison also claimed on a December 29, 2007 edition of Camp Freddy Radio that STP have venues on hold for shows and that "it's no secret, half of LA knows it," implicating a reunion tour. There are rumors that the tour will kick off in May at the Rock on the Range festival in Ohio.

All of this coincides with a quote from Weiland last summer where he stated, "The only thing that's left unfinished is the completion of the story. I feel that there could be a better final chapter, a better bookend. If all the planets line up, you never know what might happen one day." [4]

Classic Rock magazine tracked down Duff McKagan and he said the following:

On STONE TEMPLE PILOTS reforming:

"That’s the rumor that I've heard too. Good for him. You can't plan ahead in this thing and if you do, you're going to be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I love playing live and we love this band, but I don't have expectations any more. This is a great band and I'm proud to be a part of it, but it doesn't define me anymore."

Yes, that is an old, disproved rumor.
