This acoustic-driven ballad is wonderfully understated and has an endearing innocence about it. Melodies are the order of the day, and it all comes together perfectly.

A song about heroin use has "endearing innocence." Hum....

It was a fantastic read.....really cool and I couldn't have agreed more.

I really wanted to play this song during my wedding reception. But, just knowing that the song was about heroin would have lived on my conscience the whole night.

Although my wife would have had no clue :)

I think the line that goes "Ive got you but its the feeling that i get when my mind begins to wander to the spoon" might have gotten someones attention at the wedding.

They could have thought he was talking about ice cream.

I thought the listing was rather good. . . why is everyone hating on "Church on Tuesday?" I think it's a good tune to hear.

Haha! Good one. :D

But seriously, I pretty much feel the exact same way about Church On Tuesday as you. It's not a "bad" song, per say. It just never really "grabbed" me.

When I got more interested in music from a technical standpoint background vocals became my favorite part of recordings. Until then I never noticed all the crazy bg vox on STP records. COT definitely has some pretty sweet ones!

Church on Tuesday is a gem. How can people not like the groove in the chorus, Weilands vocals, Dean's guitar work, anything about the song?!
From another post: I can't imagine Church on Tuesday without the presence of Robert's bass near the end.
Go and take a listen everyone.

I will say this about Church on Tuesday. It always reminded me of a Tiny Music outtake. I remember when No. 4 came out, I had this bad habit of comparing the tracks from the album to previous STP records. ( I did this for every band I listened to at the time) For example, when I heard Down, I thought to myself, 'It sounds like it could have came from the Core sessions.' So when I heard Church on Tuesday, I immediately thought 'It sounds like a Tiny Music outtake.'

Now considering that Tiny Music is my favorite album ever, I'm still trying to figure out why I never got into Church on Tuesday.

Just wanted to mention this since they had "Wonderful" on there.....101.9 here in New York actually played Wonderful today in the afternoon, I was pretty shocked, I don't think I ever heard that on the radio even back when they tried to release it to radio when SLDD came out.
