Stp Official Vhs?
« on: January 28, 2006, 04:42:45 AM »
Is it true that there is an official STP VHS that was released on 1994 or 1995? I couldn't find any info on the net. The only clues that I got (don't know if it's true though) is that it's called "Live" and it's from the show where Interstate Love Song and Silvergun Superman appear on Thank You DVD

Sorry for my english

well, it's true - Atlantic Records did release a live video called "Stone Temple Pilots: Live 1995".  but rumour has it that only 500 copies were made and to this day, it's one of the most sought out STP films ever.  professional audio recordings of this show are well circulated, i have one and i also have a (not so great) audience film of this very show on DVD as well, but the quality isn't much to brag about.

Wow thanks for the info!! Do you know the date and place of the show?

I hope some day that gem surfaces!!, maybe they should re-release it officially on DVD format, or maybe 1 of the 500 lucky fans should torrent it  :D

I wish I had a copy.  I remember looking for it when I first heard it was being released, but it was nowhere to be found.   I was in the second row that night.  The best show I have ever seen.  You can't really see the audience on the tracks that made it to the DVD, but I wonder if I'm on that tape somewhere.

Does Anyone Have a Copy of the STP: LIVE (1994) VHS tape

Does anyone have a copy of the STP: Live (1994) VHS tape?

http://www.tower.com/details/details.cfm?wapi=106398515

The VHS features a pro-shot performance from the Purple Tour in Worcester, Massachusetts on 8-22-1994
http://www.belowempty.com/concerts.php?s=date&id=356

I have been searching for a copy of this performance for years... there's an audio recording of the show floating around out there, which i have... however, obtaining the VHS tape is nearly impossible... i have an audience recording from the New Haven performance on this tour, which for an audience recording is pretty amazing... However, nothing beats a pro-shot recording, especially of the greatest band in the world touring the greatest album of all-time!!!

if anyone has a copy of the VHS tape... I am willing to trade (i have a very extensive STP collection that is comprised of both Soundboard Audio & Pro-Shot Video from all eras of STP)... or if necessary, I am willing to purchase a copy of the VHS tape...

if anyone has any information regarding the STP: Live (1994) VHS tape, please email me at:
andrewivanhayes@gmail.com

My sincere regards,

Andrew Hayes

The live VHS/Laserdisc was eventually scrapped because the band thought their record label made "too big of a production" of it and they vetoed the release. There are no promotional copies available. Some of this footage was eventually released on the Thank You DVD.
