It's at the 16:50 mark. What's weird is I thought Anthony became friends with Scott during their tour together in 2000, however this interview happened before STP joined the chili peppers.

Thanks for the post.

I'm honestly surprised Kiedis hasn't been "metoo'd" yet.  He comes off as an insincere creep to me.

Vaporized - "I can confirm that it's neither Gutt or Borja."

I agree. I was a fan of the Chili Peppers as a teenager in the 90’s but when they switched from making hard funk rock to watered down funk pop in the 2000’s I went off them massively. As I’ve got older I’ve also come to realise that Kiedis is a massive creep too, for example -

Kiedis has acknowledged having twice committed statutory rape (of a 14-year-old when he was 23), which inspired him to write the song "Catholic School Girls Rule".

Not to mention this video of him - https://youtu.be/7i_22PrQsp8

I wouldn’t be surprised if more stuff comes out about him eventually.

Nothing matters again, I didn\'t think we\'d last that long

Oof!
That's disappointing.
I'm not a die-hard RHCP fan, but I am a fan.
That poor girl.

Wow.  That didn't take very long.

I read his autobiography (Scar Tissue) years ago and I'll admit it was an enjoyable read at the time, but now looking back on it, it was him constantly doing heroin, burning out on drugs, going to some island in the middle of nowhere to rehab and then relapsing.  All while constantly banging every girl he ever met along the way.  He referred to all the experiences with these women as "spiritual".  There also was a chapter in that book where he claims he knew at a young age that he had a knack for poetry/lyrics and one of his teachers just loved him and thought he was the greatest from what I can remember.  IMO he's up there with Fred Durst for worst lyrics in any band I can think of:

"WOOMP DUMB DOOMP CAUSE IM A DOUBLE DIPPA"

"DING DING DONG DONG DING DING DONG DONG DING DING"

Hr308: "Cuatro, i nearly did this because 5 g's is nothing to me."

Vaporized - "I can confirm that it's neither Gutt or Borja."

I mean, yeah those aren't his best lyrics, however if you're gonna judge a lyricist by their worst work, then Scott ranks up there with the worst too.

"Yeah, come on come on now" x 4

My guy has you beat by a lot.

I don't think you wanna go head to head with Kiedis' stupidity.

In Anthonys defense his lyrics can be stupid but it fits the silly high energy brand of RHCP.  Scotts go to a different level of cringe which is amplified when you compare it to his better lyrics

Everyone's written questionable lyrics.

Anthony Kiedis is at the highest level of garbage.  Him and Fred Durst are the Kings of shit lyricism.

"You always were my favorite drug, Even when we used to take drugs"

I've read this on here before, where people blast this lyric.
I actually don't find anything wrong with it.

The level of addiction to Mary (assuming it's Mary) was an infatuation beyond any drug he's ever craved.
I'm cool with that notion - especially when, by all accounts, he was crazy for her.

As for the rest of Between the Lines, i'm pretty sure he said in an interview that the lyrical approach was a "I Am The Walrus" vibe, in which words sound phonetically interesting rather than the meaning itself.

For every argument that the "Peace" album had filler lyrics, there are some gems in there.

"you're my favorite drug" is about as cliche as "you're my favorite disease".
