There are a lot of great tours this summer, but the rock just keeps on going as the calendar turns to fall. Stone Temple Pilots and Rivals Sons are making sure of that as the two bands have announced a co-headlining tour.
The trek will launch Sept. 13 in Baltimore, Maryland, weaving along the East Coast into the Midwest, heading south into Texas and venturing out west over just shy of a month, wrapping in San Diego, California on Oct. 9. Tickets for the run go on sale today at 12PM local time via Live Nation.


STP's Dean DeLeo says, "We are thrilled about this tour and grateful to share these upcoming shows with Rival Sons. A great band! They don't make them like this anymore. Looking forward to seeing all of you." Meanwhile, Rival Sons' Scott Holiday adds, "We're delighted to share the stage with the DeLeo brothers and STP. Not to mention performing together in some really great venues. These guys wrote some of the soundtrack to my childhood… and it'll be killer to watch and listen to 'em hit these gems every night."

Live Nation has the $20 deal too this week as well! They including this tour as part of the package! I'm tempted to return to the Aragon Brawlroom, but I am leaning to go see STP at the show in New Buffalo.

I'm hoping to see Garbage, Live/Bush, and hopefully the Pumpkins this Summer.  What shows are you planning to check out?

I wish they would toss out an EP or even just a new single before the tour. Glad they are going out again.

As for Rival Sons, I'm not really big on their stuff but they have a couple okay tunes, IMO.

I'd just like to see them play stuff from the last album before they release a new one. Unfortunately with another co-headlining tour I don't see that happening.

True. They haven't played enough of the latest album live. If a person has not purchased the album, they have not heard some of the better songs, as they have not received airplay. Not sure what strategy they have in that regard for moving ahead.

Jeff is what I expected for a live show, good front man...but not Scott (something that people will always say).

For me, Rival Sons are the best band of the last 10 years - easily.
And their live shows are stellar.

I just got a meet and greet ticket but they really didn't give any details about it. I don't know if it's a pre-show event or a post show party. I've done meet and greets that were done both ways in the past.
