My Morning Jacket Announce New Album, Tour

My Morning Jacket will release their seventh full-length studio album Waterfalls on May 4 via ATO/Capitol Records. The album was primarily recorded at Stinson Beach, CA's Panoramic House with producer/engineer Tucker Martin, who worked with the band on their 2011 release Circuital.
My Morning Jacket have also announced a lengthy tour in support of Waterfalls, which is set to kick off at the Georgia Theatre on May 15. The group will then make their way across the country, with festival stops at Hangout, Bosron Calling, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo and Forecastle, and multi-night runs in Chicago, Detroit, Columbus, Minneapolis and Atlanta. Along the way, they will be joined by Floating Action, Hiss Golden Messenger, Lucius, Mini Mansions and others.

Chicago is having three shows. I would like to make one. I've never seen them headline and I would LOVE to check them out again.

They aren't my favorite band (probably top 10, though) but they are definitely my favorite live act.

Got tickets to their final of three shows in Chicago, which happens to fall on my birthday. Very excited

Gotta admit the new album is a bit disappointing.  Going to see them in Dallas and Austin though.

Really? I am loving it. I think it's their best from front to back since Z.

Well that isn't really saying much to me.  We've had diminishing returns since Z, though I do like Evil Urges quite a bit.  I think it's just boring and generic.  Like a collection of MMJ B-sides.  The best track on here isn't as good as the weakest on most of their other records.

Still the best live band going for my money, looking forward to October.
