List of unreleased/non-album tracks

I was just wondering if other than the songs that the band has callaborated on with other bands.......are there any unreleased songs that aren't on any albums.  I'm only familiar with the official releases........thanks

The only ones I know of are from the Mighty Joe Young day, but some of those are on Core or Purple.

Yeah, I heard they did re-record 'only dying' but I doubt we will ever hear it.  Dean, I believe, said they used parts of the song to create other Stone Temple Pilots songs so it would be kinda pointless to release something we have already heard.  I would like to hear it, but god knows S.T.P never listrens to what I have to say  :angry:

The Mighty Joe Young stuff is around.  Trading or buying would just be a waste of money.  I've got a souped up version on my computer.  If I'm so inclined in the future, I may release it as some high quality OGGs.

What is Somba Nova?

I believe it was 'Samba Nova'.  It was a bossa-nova style tune (think And So I Know) that was written and recorded for Shangri-La.  It, according to Scott originally, was going to be on the album.  I would really love to hear it.

Also add the Sheer Heart Attack cover they were going to do for some album.  I think they were going to do a Cat Stevens cover as well (for some political documentary?), but I'm not sure what happened with that whole thing.  Oh and that Kiss cover too...forget which song though.

From the FAQ:

Watchin' You. (1993). Recorded in late 1993 for the 'KISS My Ass' Kiss Tribute Album, which was eventually released in june 1994, with a completely different track/artist list than the original concept. It is unclear if Stone Temple Pilots was at some point scheduled to contribute 'Watchin' You' to this compilation cd, but it seems very likely since Billboard reported that the band had been working on a recording.

From what I undestand, "Sheer Heart Attack" and the Cat Stevens cover were only rumors and S.T.P never recorded them.
