Stone Temple Pilots (2010) / Re: STP review from a hardcore fan.

Nah, I love Tiny Music but not this album.

Take a load off is okay, but that's it.

My disappointment in this new album hadn't changed after a few more listens. It won't be on my ipod much longer.

My fave STP albums are Purple>Core>Tiny Music> SLDD=N0.4

I bought the AOA album since it was the clsest thing to STP at the time. but I didn't really dig Richard Patrick's vocals all that much, and I'm not all that big on Ray Luzier as a drummer. However there are still some good tracks.

I like 12 Bar Blues, my fave songs from that being Desperation #5, and About Nothing, and Mockingbird Girl (I also like the Magnificent Bastards' version). I havent listened to happy in Galoshes all the way through, I like a song called The Man I didn't know by him as well.

I liked Contraband's Suckertrain Blues, and Slither. On, Libertad I didn't really find anything lasting. I like Hello Hello from Talkshow, but havent heard much else.

None of this shows a reason for me not digging this new STP album. It's just a personal preference, not an argument.

My comment wasn't ignorant. It's a personal opinion, so it shouldn't offend you.

I've been an STP fan since I bought Core on the day it was released. I know what I like about the band.

Huckleberry Crumbe is Aerosmith's Same Ol' Song and Dance, Bagman is the Batman theme song, Cinnamon is a song that belongs on Dawson's creek or some other puupp-love teen show. Take a load of and Hasy Daze are the best songs on the album.

This album is mediocre, that's all I'm saying. Every band has one or 2 albums like this. I still love them live, but this album is absolutely not for me.

Cinnamon:

We'll, I guess if Dawson's Creek ever has a reunion show, this song might just be perfect.

I like that they are still making music, but if this is the new sound of STP, I may be done with this band.

This album is proof that Rock n' Roll is in a very bad place these days.

Well,

This album is what it is, I guess.

A couple of the tunes are okay, but this album has gone way off in a direction that I'm just not into.

First album by STP that I just don't dig.

I'll give it a few more listens but, man, I just wish it was more rockin'.

Stone Temple Pilots News / Re: Amazon.com - Album Stream

When Amazon started streaming Bagman,  for some reason I wasn't able to get it until after 3 am. It just didn't show up when I went to the site, and I stayed up waiting for it.

I'm sure there will be a stream, they said there would be, so I guess we just have to be patient.

The full album will be streaming from this Wednesday May 19th until it's release.

Awesome,

Thanks,

I'm gonna check these out right now.

I can't find these clips at all. I'm in Canada, so maybe that's reason.

Do any other sites have them?

I like this one the best so far.

It does sound like Aerosmith, but I don't really care.

Still 8 more songs to go.

Huckleberry>Bagman>BTL>Hickory (IMO)

Also, for those who are waiting for the album to leak: I think there is a certain excitement about buying a CD before hearing everything on it. I was always excited, as a kid,  to go out and buy a new tape (Yes, I said tape), and hurry home to play songs I hadn't heard yet. So, if you absolutely cannot wait for May 25th, please support the band by buying the CD when it comes out, even if you already have all the songs.

The amazon streams have been updating on Tuesday's, so we may have to wait until then.

I'm buying the album without a doubt, but I am really kinda disappointed so far.
