I saw that picture when it was posted on FB. But where does it say he's recording with James Iha? All the picture said he, SW and the WBs were in the studio.

Yeah there was nothing about them recording together, just that they were in the same studio.

Nice. Always liked James Iha. Very talented guy.

Hope it's more than one song.

Good to see that they're bringing in outside talent for 'Blaster'.

Hopefully they're doing the same when it comes to the album's production.  Without Doug, I wonder if Scott will try to produce 'Blaster' himself, or bring in some outside help?  'HIG' was alright, but I always thought the production quality/mixing of his Christmas album was a bit better... then his cover album had zero production value or quality control, which was a shame since I enjoyed most of those covers.

I seem to remember Scott naming a producer he was working with earlier in the year, but I can't for the life of me remember who it was.

EDIT: It was a guy named Rick Parker http://loudwire.com/scott-weiland-writing-new-solo-album/

Apparently he's produced for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and done engineering on Chris Shiftlett (of the Foo Fighters)'s solo album and the most recen Beck album

Thanks.

Interesting; checking out Rick Parker's site now.  He seems a bit all over the place, but I do like BRMC & Beck though; so hopefully it's a good thing (especially w/ Weiland's sound).   If this actually comes out in November, that and a new Foo Fighters album would make for a pretty good month.

Scott should get some of his music friends to chip in, would be great if Cantrell, Chino and even Fred Durst could get in on Blaster

This is exactly what he needs. Some star-power. Not some over-the-top superstar but someone with the credentials of a James Iha.
Too bad this is a studio collaboration and not live. It would elevate the "Wildabouts" if he had guys of this caliber.

Interesting. I just discovered Black Rebel Motorcycle Club a few days ago.

Anyway sounds like hes really trying on this new album.
