He sounds great here. It's short but interesting.

Started off a little choppy, but great interview towards the end. Nice to have an interviewer have some history with him. Would love to have Scott get on Howard Stern in this current state!

Cool interview.  Nice to see him in a good state of mind.  Interesting to see these guys not ask him about the current state of STP or VR and still talk to him about something interesting.

Nice to hear that 6 songs are completed!! Scott sounds ambitious and clear. We really need another album from him. Can't wait. No one else like him.

Nice to see Scott genuinely excited about this album and feeling artistically fulfilled with what he's doing.

6 songs are complete! I think it's gonna be a great album. Ever since he's talked about making the new album I've been really happy for him because music seems to be his true passion and it makes me happy to seem him so excited about it. It's so cute, hehe. Can't wait!

He said Danny Thompson is the best drummer he’s ever played with.

Hopes this shows on the album if he's going to make this claim.

"Well, Danny's alright, but he's not great compared to my old drummers."

Everyone has a heart attack every time Weiland praises his current band members, but if Dean says that Chester is the best frontman he's ever worked with, those same people would probably defend that claim.

Actually, the quote was "Danny is the best drummer I've ever played with". Not arguing with it, just want it to show on the album if he's going to say it.

If Dean suggested that Chester was the best frontman he had ever worked with, I would think he was suffering from dementia.

I haven’t listened to the interview yet, so I don't know exactly what was said. But, comments like these – from either party – are snarky, unnecessary, and just plain disrespectful. If Scott wants to praise his current band members, that’s wonderful, but he needn’t disparage anyone else in the process. “Danny is a fantastic drummer” would suffice. To say, “Danny is the best drummer [he’s] ever played with” makes Scott sound insecure, almost like he is trying to convince himself that it’s true. If he really did say that, I’m disappointed in him.

In any event, the new album will speak for itself.

It's entirely possible he is a technically better drummer than Eric. Eric is more than a tub thumper though, he grooves in a way not many drummers can.

I can't think anybody here would defend the notion that Chester is a better frontman for STP than Scott, that would be fucking stupid, and it's a silly thing to say about people here.

My quote was sarcasm. Hard to convey in text, but the point being, what is Weiland supposed to say? Should he tell people that his new band is nothing compared to STP? He's just giving his opinion; how can you argue with that? He can say that Meg White is the best drummer in the world and it wouldn't mean that she is. I don't even agree with Weiland in this video, but there's always something negative that has to be brought out in everything that's said, whether it's a STP interview or a Scott interview.

Lately, it doesn't seem that crazy that some people around here would try to spin it in STP's favor. Hypothetical, of course. No one in STP has said that, I was just making an example.

I think it seems extremely crazy and unfair to the people here to say that.

Everybody here is a big STP fan, most of us very long term, since the band isn't exactly picking up very many new fans. People have had their problems with Scott's behaviour, and many people are accepting of the decision to move on without him, but I have never seen even an inkling of anybody doing down Scott's huge contribution to the band or belittling his undeniable talent.
