Doug Grean announces the end of his partnetship with Scott
« on: March 22, 2014, 09:47:05 PM »

Just posted on Facebook by Doug:

"It saddens me to announce that I will no longer be working with Scott Weiland as a performer or a producer. It is the end of a 15 year musical collaboration that has been incredibly fruitful and creative, but it is unfortunately no longer possible to sustain. I will continue to produce bands in my Pasadena studio and write and perform with The Terpsichords and Saturn Returns. I wish Scott and my brothers in the Wildabouts my love and all the best."

If he's poisoned the well with Doug this badly, you know things have gotten *bad*.

Ummm... Wow.

Either A: Scott's woken up and decided he wants a more talented musical collaborator, or B: Scott's in such bad shape now that even yes man Doug can't stand to work with him...

Unfortunately, I suspect the latter

Of course we hope that this is mutual and has something to do with other things, such as Grean's interest in his other projects or Scott getting a more significant band together.

If it's not, well, as I have mentioned before, Scott's two main groups of collaborators--the rest of STP and VR--don't want to work with him. Now perhaps Doug doesn't. Sad.

Kind of odd timing bc the Wildabouts have been posting photos out of nowhere lately on their FB page.

Scott still has the wildabouts so thats a good sign. I think if it was that bad they all would have left him. Ive always said i wanted scott to get a new songwriting partner anyways. He needs someone like victor indrizzo again or musicians that are the same talent as the gang from 12 bar blues imo. But if scott still ends up finishing this solo album now without doug ill be happy.

Maybe Doug got tired of waiting.  Like with Tiger Army, Geoff Kresge announced last month or so he was no longer in TA. Nick 13 did his solo thing for two-three years or so. But nothing really has happened in the last 9 months or so, maybe a show here and there. TA has been ready to record.

Probably with Doug, he might have been tired of waiting around for Scott. Didn't someone here ask Doug and Doug said they hadn't recorded anything in months or whatever? Gah, I can't remember. But I know someone here asked him.

Anyway, I wonder what's going to happen to the shows Scott is playing soon.

"...it is unfortunately no longer possible to sustain."

Doug is telling us the reason right there. It's so obvious. But I guess denial is a powerful thing.

I was the one who asked Doug. I think Doug either got tired or waiting or got tired of putting up with Scott.

Well shit. Scott is doing even worse that I thought, but I guess I expected it. The dude seems like he's been on a steep downward slope for a while, musically.

Well, obviously Scott will need to replace Grean's place in the wildabouts...perhaps this is what we've been waiting for: the chance for Scott to fuel musically with someone else.
I mean, Doug said it himself: its been 15 years working together...
Seems like you left me when you broke down
