Least favorite STP song
« on: August 25, 2004, 05:24:51 AM »
I remember reading an interview with Scott Weiland in Kerrang about 3 years ago and one of the questions was something like 'what song would you donate to an album titled 'terrible songs from our career'? Scott replied with 'Ride The Cliche'. I can't remember his exact words or reasons for not liking the song but from what I remember it sounded like he really disliked it. I quite like that song, I don't think STP really recorded a BAD song, at least there is no STP song that I am forced to skip anyway. Looking back I wish i'd bought this magazine at the time (instead of standing in the store reading it!) so I could read the rest of the interview. If anyone has the full article maybe they could type it up.

Anyway thought I would pass the info on for those who might not know.

Agreed

That's my least favorite STP song atleast..
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

no no no!!! I love that song. I quite like Pruno as well. I think my least fav song would be something off No. 4 though (possibly MC5) because on a few of the songs Scott seems to repeat the same verse but changes just a few words which makes the song become quite boring.Don't get me wrong though I have nothing against No.4, I love it as I do all of STP's albums, I just always thought maybe he kinda rushed his lyrics on that album cos he was going through so much shit at the time. Still that album spawned 'Atlanta' and that is my fav STP song.

"Pruno?"
"Ride the Cliche?"

What about "Church on Tuesday?!"
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

'And I don't believeeee it...Is she really gone again?'

This song is a prime example of what I was saying in my post above, it's catchy and had potential but it's very short and Scott repeats some of the lyrics and the hook over and over. I think it could have been a better song had they had more time to play around with it, it sounds kinda rushed. Who says ' You Can't Drive Me Away' should've been in it's place?Cast your votes now!

'Where the River Goes', 'Song for Sleeping', and 'Long Way Home' get skipped.
