I hope Scott plays with these guys more.  Far better musicians/people to be around in general than The Enableabouts.

I agree. In a perfect world, he'd make an album with these guys!  I'm also looking forward to seeing the Wildabouts actually play their own songs instead of STP songs.  They're far better at those.

The Roxy announced Camp Freddy's 7th annual residency December 19, 20, 21.  Says "Camp Freddy and Friends". Maybe Scott will make an appearance?

Tickets on sale November 1st.

Does this mean a VR reunion is more likely to occur? Dave and Scott appear to be onboard. Matt hated Scott, but is playing with him tonight. Duff seems like the forgiving type, this only leaves Slash. It's possible!

From Scott's interviews last year it sounded like he and Duff had atleast put things aside, but not necessarily reconciled.  I mean I'd be cordial if I ran into my ex out in public, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna agree to meet her out for dinner.
And also, those same interviews said VR was reuniting and they'd be hitting the road ahead of the "Core" tour.

I think Matt & Scott had the biggest fallout at the end of VR but I think Slash was on the same level he just wasn't so dramatic/public about it.

The irony is that they're all so big headed that they feel they don't need to put up with each other in a band together.  So they'll do some solo/side-project stuff to keep them busy and then play in a rotating supergroup that has potential to put a different combination of them onstage together.

I highly doubt it will ever happen, but more than anything I'd just like to hear Scott sing some of those songs again to reassure me he still has that voice.  He was on a whole higher level up through VR.
I'd actually prefer he sings a little more VR stuff in his solo shows and cut it out with the repetative cover songs.  Leave that stuff for Camp Freddy or change it up.  Janes Addiction is the only act that has a reason to keep Mountain Song as a staple in their set for 2 years straight.....

Wow that thought started out in one place and broke course 2 or 3 times.....sorry.
Hold me closer.....closer.....let me go!

My STP Concertology:  6/22/01, 10/26/01, 4/21/02, 4/23/02, 5/18/08, 5/26/08, 5/31/08, 8/6/08, 8/8/08, 8/10/08, 7/17/09, 5/18/10, 9/3/10, 9/4/10, 7/25/11, 7/26/11, 9/10/11, 9/1/12, 5/6/18

I'd be surprised to see Scott do anything significant with VR again.  Maybe a single or one off show.  I highly doubt it, though.  Slash seemed totally vs. it.  Little ironic though how Axl treats Slash and then how Slash treats Scott.  Slither, Set Me Free, Sucker Train Blues are staples in my rotation.  Though I could imagine Scott doing something w/ D Kushner in a lead guitarist capacity.

I definitely agree with you on Scott doing things in VR again. In a perfect world they would settle their differences and get back on that train! He really was on a whole other level with those guys. There was this raw energy
that he had that was really different than the energy he had with STP and I really loved it. I was a HUGE fan of VR and both albums as a whole and I was one of the people who were bummed that it all fell apart. Scott was a new person with that
outfit he would wear on stage during the Contraband tour. Definitely wouldn't mind
if he covered some VR tunes but if I remember correctly the Walkabouts did Do It For the Kids and it sounded really flat! The raw energy wasn't there either naturally cause they are not VR. Hell, I'd be fine if VR got back together. Then
I'd have that and STP side by side. But yeah I know wishful thinking. lol VR just had those nasty riffs and vibes that killed it every time. STP is more on the artsy side while VR is in your face type music. Good times.

How about a band consisting of Scott, Kushner, Navarro doing STP, VR, and Jane's Addiction songs, sort of a Kings of Chaos knock off..........

I'd rather see them performing original material.

It's probably easier to put differences aside for something like Camp Freddy, which is a charity thing.  Actually getting together again to tour and make music is a whole 'nother thing. So it's not impossible, but I wouldn't take this as a sign.

Is STP and VR not original?  Or is it OK for Chester and Slash to use Scott's lyrics?
