this is my last reply to this because we are clearly off topic and being stupid in general in fact i feel idiotic for even having this argument but i will close with this. its really strange to me that on a STP forum im being called a troll for saying Linkin Park sucks, a year ago the only response i would have gotten would be "thanks for pointing out the obvious"

this is my last reply to this because we are clearly off topic and being stupid in general in fact i feel idiotic for even having this argument but i will close with this. its really strange to me that on a STP forum im being called a troll for saying Linkin Park sucks, a year ago the only response i would have gotten would be "thanks for pointing out the obvious"

The first time Chester works with talented musicians and he blows it with his piss poor Scott Weiland karaoke and cookie cutter lyrics.
 
Every song was forgettable. Only an LP fan could enjoy such thing.

Thats my one gripe about the record, Chesters lyirics.  His melodies and harmonies are good but im not impressed with the lyrics, even the title of the songs, thats one thing I liked about Weilands STP was the odd names songs had, nevermind his lyrics.

I blame the Deleo bros. for the lyrics. 

Anyway, I'm a Linkin Park fan, and I think High Rise is generic crap.

I am so happy to hear those guys making music again.  And I'm thrilled for them to have found somebody to bring back some positivity and energy to their musical lives.  The nasty attitude that I read from people on the internet about Chester just tells me the person is immature and ridiculous.  Chester is a powerful singer and has done fantastic work with STP.  I hope this partnership continues.

I like all the songs, but I think that Out of Time and Black Heart are the two weakest songs by a decent margin.  They just don't resonate with me for whatever reason.  I think Tomorrow rules and definitely is worthy of being an STP great in my mind

Taking this EP for what it is... generic-pop-rock.  Nothing amazing, but a few good, catchy albeit very simple songs.

I love Weiland, but he's never been the greatest lyricist. He might write something like this:
