I know he's got the capabilities to play some crazy stuff (ie intro to "Naked Sunday"), but he generally sticks to more straightforward beats and fills. Why?

Ask him why they took down the official forum. Mention that it would help them build a stronger fanbase. Cause bands with less success, have a much bigger fanbase, cause they actually try to interact with the fans and pretend to care or maybe even really do care.... Its not right, I guess now that they are not showing up 2 hours late every night, they won't get as many people bitching on the forums.... Tell him your willing to help mod and know a lot of others who are too and WE FUCKING WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why don't you post the audio from the dean interview? On you site its just text, but it appears you spoke with him on the phone or something. Did you not record it? Why not post it? It would be nice to hear them and their personalities, we rarely get anything from these guys.... Thoughts?

Yeah I'll put up audio at some point.  The thing with audio is you've got to keep in mind there might be awkward pauses or interruptions due to speakerphone, the way I do interviews like this with limited time is being ready to jump in so I can get them all in.

That must have been the very early days, since Scott said the band was never that close after 1994. That means for 12 years (1994-2001 & 2008- 2012)  they basically toured without being that close. I think another false concept is these guys really started to become distant around the reunion, when in fact it appears they have been that way since the release of Purple. Maybe the fame and money got to them. It is interesting that he and Scott were best friends, I can see that considering Robert and Dean were probably always closer with each other than they were with Scott and Eric.
