I realize that opinions will always differ, even amongst people on the "same team"; so it was a good read from that perspective. The only thing that bothered me was that the review had a very mainstream feel to it.  Kinda like something 'Rolling Stone' would release, opposed to something written by a fan.

I'd disagree on some of the comparisons, but that's neither here nor there. So I'll just sit here counting down the hours until the EP leaks...

I didn't expect a biased fan piece... but being an "Alternative" site, I guess I expected more than the generic ramblings I'd expect from a site like Rolling Stone.

There's something ironic about bringing this up here considering the likelihood that we here are all going to buy the disc or download either way. I'm just sayin'.

It's not about whether we are going to buy it or not, i'm sure all the regular members will. It's a question of legal liability for the site owner. Record companies, distributors and bands leave unofficial material alone these days, but they most certainly do not like fan sites posting links to leaked copies of their forthcoming material.

It's just plain bad manners, anyway.

Pingfah is right. The owner of the site (I just looked. I registered here ten years ago! And I think that was a reregister, if I am not mistaken.) does not allow commercially available material or leaks to be posted here.

High Rise is pop rock bliss and should please STP fans who have enjoyed the band’s ventures into poppier territory on Shangri LA DEE DA, Stone Temple Pilots, and Tiny Music…Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop.

Hahaha no.  Comparing this to Tiny Music or even SLDD is a joke.

I like Black Heart a little bit, the rest of the tracks are just lazy.  This EP works if it was under a different band or a side project but it doesn't work as STP.
