Goddamn this board has gotten bitchy. It's pretty much getting to a point where it isn't pleasurable to come here and talk about my favorite band.
I understood it at the Van Halen board where Eddie was being an obvious, money-hungry prick who fired Michael Anthony for no good reason other than he played a few songs with Sammy Hagar's band on tour while Van Halen took a near ten year hiatus from doing anything. The nerve of MA wanting to play bass with a friend. Eddie's ACTUAL quote about it was that you can't be in two bands (of course, Mike wasn't in Sammy's band and VH was dead at the moment). Amazing how his son, the current bassist for VH, playing with Mark Tremonti isn't a problem.
But here--we ALL know how much Scott has screwed up. We all know how difficult it probably is being in a band with him. We all know he is using/drinking, he hasn't stopped smoking, and his voice is suffering from it.
Unfortunately, our favorite or near favorite band has made a personnel change. Either you're going to give it a chance, be apprehensive but give constructive criticism, or you're here to be bitchy. I have to admit, I am tired of people being bitchy.
This person didn't see others mentioned that part of the vocal melody sounds like Get Back. This person started a thread on it to discuss this similarity. It was a nice post. I thought to myself, 'Hey, I know a bit about music. I will pick out the melodies and see how similar they are and then share. That would be fun.' Yet alsmost immediately someone was bitchy about it.
