Here's my take of what happened. I didn't see the string break but when the song kicked in...Robert's bass was off or something...he quickly adjusted his wireless pack and it came back on. I wouldn't be surprised if that (the lack of the bass coming in at the start) threw Dean for a loop and then he just couldn't recoup.

I suppose that could be it. Normally you would hear that happen. There is a weird tonal thing that happens in there, but without seeing or hearing an obvious breakage I assumed it was his attack that changed.

It would make sense that this would confuse him--and his head lifts up as if something happened--but I tried to look for a string break right off that bat and couldn't see/hear one. I'm guessing it was the 4th string, then.

I've never thought that Dean was a great improviser. This would seem to back that up.

EDIT: Found a video from another angle. All of his strings are intact. Either the string came unwound but didn't break, or he's lying. Or I am retarded. Which is possible.

When I saw them in Cincinnati in '09, they fucked up the beginning of ISL... Had to restart it.  Pretty funny actually

Right, that's IT!!! I was fully supporting the Deleos up until now, and I wanted to become a female just so I could marry Chester Bennington. But with THIS? Dean screwing up intros to songs he has known for YEARS? He's so into the money, he actually forgets how to play the guitar! He must be thinking about money ALL THE GODDAMN TIME. It was probably the dollar signs in his eyes that stopped him from seeing what NOTE he was playing.

I'm OUT!!!

*Laughs*. Oddly enough, I'm pretty sure he broke a string at Bethlehem too (I actually saw it snap, or at least what appeared to be a string snapping) and he did pretty good without the string.

But DAMN DEAN STOP PLAYING THAT GUITAR SO HAAAARD.

It seems that his hand hurts after riff
Look I just want to go out sometime you know.  Like normal people, spend time together and enjoy each other's company. Like best friends.  Like lovers that care.  Who actually respect the relationship you know?"
