High Rise EP Artwork

I like the cover. It doesn't remind me of a quintessential STP cover, but this isn't quintessential STP. The band is taking a new path and I think the artwork indicates how they are moving in a different direction.

i hope the music doesnt sound anything like the way the artwork looks lol damn thats terrible.

I agree. It does not look like a cover that STP would have. Even the title High Rise seems odd for STP. I want this EP to be solid, and I believe it will.

I like OOT, and I am predicting the EP will be solid, but not classic STP. It's unlikely the Deleo bros are going to produce something that isn't at least enjoyable, because so far that has never happened.

I don't like the cover though, it looks like they just downloaded a picture they like off a photobank and slapped it on there.

I'm curious as to what a quintessential STP album cover is. I mean, from Purple to Tiny Music all the way to No. 4 and Self Titled...those are drastically different.

Oh, well that's arguable and probably varies from opinion to opinion. I wouldn't by any means call this cover artsy, I'd call Purple artsy, so you know, pinions and stuff. Quintessential STP to you means those things, but I'd beg to differ. *shrug* Just one of those things man. Like you said though, this is a new STP, but I wouldn't by any means put this cover past them.

I think Core was pretty "artsy" as far as album covers go.

To be honest, High Rise's cover reminds me of Core somewhat. Maybe I'm reading too much into things, but it may be that they're signalling a return to their Hard Rock roots.

When I say artsy I mean something that would be found on a wall in an art exhibit. I like the Core and Purple covers, but I could not see them hanging up in some trendy NYC art gallery. I could, however, see this cover in a gallery somewhere.

They should've just named it, "We wish Scott nothing but the best" with that middle finger cloud from their promo shots w/ Chester.
