Well, you are exaggerating, although there is a lot of negative feedback. Probably more like 50/50 in reality.

Of course, this assumes that the level of good vs bad comments on facebook is a reliable indicator of whether something is actually popular or not, which of course, it isn't.

Lol Blue your full of shit or on drugs or both. Most of the feedback on FB, Youtube, Twitter, and other rock forums IS negative. Most STP fans ARE pissed off about this hack fronting STP. You cant be THAT much of a fanboy to say thats not true. Take Chesters nuts out of your mouth for Christs sake.

Same shit happened with AIC.

The test will be what attendance is like on the tour and how another single from the EP performs.

STP Shows: 5/1/08, 6/24/08, 12/31/08, 7/1/09, 5/25/10, 6/5/10, 10/29/10, 9/22/12, 5/30/13, 9/1/13

We all want STP with Scott, but he's a mess and he's incapable of fronting the band right now.  I'd rather have the DeLeos/Kretz carry on with a new guy than have STP completely dead with the DeLeos only doing some obscure collaborations/projects.

Thats not what the fuss is about at this point, its simply the selection of Chester Bennington.

Not true.  I'm a fan of Chester.  But not as a replacement for Scott.  I'd sign a petition to remove anyone fronting STP other than Scott.  It'd be different if Scott went the way of Layne or Kurt but he isn't.  He's out performing doing his thing.

Oh, aren't you clever. I'm capable of actually RESEARCHING what I'm saying, therefore Chester's nuts are in my mouth. You really are the witty one, aren't you?

Let's look at Facebook again, shall we? Their most recent post has earned almost 600 LIKES, and only about 100-125 negative comments. How is that majority?

Seriously, if I'm so full of shit and you're so right, why aren't you fucking smart enough to bring ACTUAL FUCKING STATISTICS. You can spend all day saying "The majority of the people on the internet thing I am Jesus Christ." But it's bullshit unless you bring fucking PROOF.

Funny that it took you this long to say specifically what your point is on the second page of a thread YOU started.

So you have a problem with Chester, personally.  As far as possible selections, Bennington was by far the best the Deleos could have found.  He already has notoriety, he can sing most of STP's catalog in tune, and he respects (more like cherishes) the band.  If Weiland would have been replaced with anyone else, STP may have already fallen flat.

Hey man! Been a while. I think you make an incredible point here. Chester freakin' adores these guys and from what I can tell, they certainly don't mind him either, the band actually seems really positive and happy about the new situation. I mean, it's a hell of a lot better than STP doing a reality show and enlisting a monster douche who thinks he's entitled to singing with the band. Chester is a superstar in his own right, that's unquestionable, but he worships the ground these guys walk on practically. Chester can sing and he can sing the majority of songs on a setlist pretty damn well. Don't forget that this is still the beginning kind of too, he'll get better as he delves more into it, I almost guarantee it. After this new EP, he'd have been with the band for quite a while, performed, recorded, etc, and he's bound to improve at that point because it'll become second nature to him. My two cents. Unrelated but man, it's good to be back on site.

That's not true.  He's out performing today.  And the show I saw at the Viper Room, he was just as good as when I last saw STP which was a solid show as well.  That's not to say he hasn't had a couple of stinkers.  But he's playing solid shows.  The Deleos thought they could point to Scott's behavior/history and fans would side with them, but they've been mistaken.  Hijacking STP is insane and most fans except for a few people on this board agrees.

I'd also like to add that having a Chester fronted band would not be an obscure project.  If the music was any good, it would rival VR.  The VR blueprint was right in front of them.  They'll have a little spike for the new tunes, but it will quickly fade IMO and they'll be left w/ the table scraps from Chester.

Scott's shows fucking suck.  Go read the reviews and watch the videos.  The bad shows outweigh the good shows.

I don't need to watch youtube or read someone's review.  I went to a show at the Viper Room earlier this month and saw it with my own eyes.  Great night.  I'd pay to see that show again or the next one he puts on in LA.  Can't say that about Stone Temple Pilots w/ Chester Bennington.  They're not scheduled in their home town because no one in LA gives a fuck about them.  The only places they can book are Indian casinos in Oklahoma.  Sounds like they moved on alright.  Nothing like touring in 2nd and 3rd rate markets with Filter.  It's died before it's started, already smell the stench........

lol they're probably not playing LA because they'll do KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas.  Nobody in LA would see STP and Chester?  Their surprise performance blew off the roof at the KROQ Weenie Roast in Orange County.  If you think Scott Weiland's trainwreck shitshow is a bigger draw than STP and Chester you're smoking some good shit.  Scott on the top of his game with a good backing band though, and this would be a different story.

100% agreed! Well put.

Now where's the Petition to have Scott Weiland back with VR so he can have a legit band again?? lol
