Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington To Release new EP "High Rise" on October 8th

Thanks to Casper and Blueberry, it looks like the new EP by Stone Temple Pilots & Chester Bennington is going to be released on the October 8th.

It was also announced by the 95.9 FM which is promoting STP show in Sayreville, NJ on September 6th.
No title or tracklisting was announced yet, but it is known that it will be a five song EP and the known track names are "Out Of Time" and "Tomorrow".

This album artwork is sweet, they put "with Chester Bennington" on the cover which made it very clear... Can we all accept this?

 Well now that the artwork is out I know this post will get 50,000 comments so I better put in my two cents now.
I just saw the artwork just now. It's definitely a HUGE departure from the previous album covers. It just has a different vibe. It gives it that new start/beginning look. It doesn't have any familiar STP designs either  that we all know. If anything maybe it has some Chester influence on it. As I have stated several times on this website I am 100% for the the new STP, but isn't there a Linkin Park song or album name that is similar to the title High Rise? lol

I like that they're using Stone Temple Pilots and Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington.  It's clear that this is a continuation of STP, but makes it clear that it isn't the Weiland fronted STP.

Can't wait to hear this. I'm digging the cover and it's cool that it's STP with Chester...I think that's a fair compromise for those that hate that Chester is part of STP now

So here we are, an EP with a name and artwork and everything.

All I ever asked for was that they didn't use the STP name without an asterisk or clarification that this was not the same band, so I guess I can't complain. But this is still weird seeing a tangible object and confirmation this is actually happening . I'll try and keep an open mind, I'll let my ears do the judging once this drops, but what a bizarre day.

Right on the money.

Despite Scott's poor performances and behavior (by all accounts) forcing their hand, I still wish it was him in the band...of course a top-notch him, but nevertheless. They create magic together. 
With that said, I'm still excited for new music because I love the other guys just as well.

I'm actually really happy they have the "with Chester Bennington" on it. Because they are STP, or 3/4 or it and that kind of shows that they know this could be temporary and keeps from totally tarnishing their legacy. I think it's a good way of still capitalizing on the name recognition that they earned but not trying to pretend that it's really fully STP. This satisfies me at least. I feel okay supporting this now. LOL! I'm sure they're all gonna breathe a sigh of relief knowing that they have my acceptance now.

It's kind of like Queen with Paul Rodgers. Kind of like using the name for recognition but not trying to pretend it it's the real deal. Then when they inevitably reunite with Scott in a few years. It can be written off as kind of a side project.

A very Linkin title with very Core-era STP art. Appreciate what they've done with the name for now. Keeps STP somewhat safe and keeps new fans interested with Chester's name on it. Core sound again? Let's wait and see. Will never be the same without Scott. Somewhere down the line maybe...

I disagree. I think it's a mechanical, engineered legal move because of the litigation.
