Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I don't see this tune being good enough to make #1. I think the reason it reached number one is because of STP's past reputation. I also think that is why Between the Lines reached number one. I don't think this will get any airtime after another few months.

If this doesn't "deserve" to be #1, then what song on that list does?

The charts aren't about being the best song a band has ever released... It's about what songs are played most on the radio for a given week.

Given the lack of solid competition right now, I can easily see why Out of Time is at the top of the charts. That's not to say it's not a great song... Just that you can't argue it shouldn't be #1 just because it's not quite Interstate Love Song.

I understand what you're saying, Blue. However, just because everything else on radio is junk doesn't necessarily mean the tune is #1 material. Essentially it's like being in a class filled with individuals who all have an IQ of 80 and calling yourself a genius just because you're of average intelligence. It makes the tune seem better than it really is. Hey it reached #1, but it reached it by default more than anything else in my opinion.

It's number one compared to complete garbage. If it goes up against anything decent I highly doubt it's number one. For example, I'm 23 years old and a decent basketball player. So if I go to a local playground and play with middle school children does that make me better than them. Technically, I am better than them but I should be. That doesn't mean I'm a a really good player. It simply means my competition sucks.
