You know, Brett... im getting real tired of your shit.

Love Scott, but this was literally released an hour or two after the lawsuit news.  I think all of the guys are in the wrong here in how this is being handled.

Kinda what I'm saying, he released a statement in response to the lawsuit.....that doesn't mention the lawsuit!  That's not how you paint yourself a victim.  He is a poorly handled man, that really doesn't posses the faculties to keep up in this social networking, instant-media, blogging=journalism world.  That's not a passive knock at your site, which I enjoy, but it is a good example of something Scott would just not be able to use for promotion or media anymore.

You could be right, but it just seems like way too much of a coincidence.  I'm sure Scott has PR people trying to direct him in how to come out in the best possible light in this, just like STP probably do.  Also I doubt any of the guys can discuss the lawsuit for legal reasons.

I haven't posted here in awhile, but I've been keeping up on everything over the past week.

It's a shame to see what this has come to, and like others have said, it's only going to get worse. I'm torn between the two 'sides,' and I refuse to choose one.

It's like we the fans are the children stuck in a nasty divorce between two parents. I feel bad for Scott, but feel he did bring this upon himself.

And I feel like the rest of the band should have a chance to continue on and be successful, and I like the new song... Though I too would prefer they call themselves STP with Chester.

I'm less enthusiastic now that the supposed details of this lawsuit have come out, as I feel certain parts of it go too far and cross the line of being justified.

It's just a lose/lose situation for most fans unfortunately.

He probably has his PR people, but to be honest, we should have heard this from him a week ago.  It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't even know the lawsuit has leaked, and this is just a response to new STP.

This whole thing is just really sad.  Regardless of all of the bullshit and whatever names are used, I will always follow Scott, Dean, Robert, and Eric in their musical endeavors.

I think that's what the 'taking sides' people are missing, and the people who interpret some people as taking sides.  The reason I said I'm selling my Scott ticket and seeing STP is because of Scott's recent live reputation.  Otherwise I'd go to both.  While the name isn't totally ideal, I'm just happy to see the other guys continuing to make music together and understand why they booted Scott.  But regardless of all the BS and lawsuits and PR battles, I'm always going to follow the music these guys make.  Whether it's called STP, Scott and the Wildabouts, Scott and the Fuckabouts, CheSTP, I don't fucking care.  It all comes down to the music.

I wasn't terribly impressed with AOA...I bought it and its ok but I never think to listen to it. Scott, while unpredictable live, is still a master when it comes to melody and lyrics. I'm expecting honestly something pretty mediocre from the DeLeo$ and I am really looking forward to see if Scott actually makes a rock album with the Wildabouts

I LOVE the Talk Show record.  I have high hopes for what those guys do next, and hope all of this motivates Scott to make a good album (among other things).

I do however have an overwhelming feeling that he didn't write this....

Regardless if he wrote it or not, it is the sentiment to express for the fans. I'm sure he's more pissed  or hurt or whatever but it shows class. Something the other guys haven't exactly been that worried about expressing lately. I actually wonder how long Chester Bennigton will tolerate Robert and Dean. He seems like a nice guy. Kind of reminds me of the girl the guy dates just to make his ex-jealous...how long does someone want to be in that role.

It'd make me feel a little better if Scott was out rocking with a band a little more capable that the "Whereabouts".

Agreed.

When he started with VR, the sky was the limit. Although, I liked both his solo albums, they felt like "side" projects, and he needed a band on his level to really shine.  The Wildabouts aren't tested, so although it seems like a longshot, I hope they can come through.
