Maybe Scott will make a statement wishing them all the best and congratulating Chester.

That would show a lot of respect, and would gain some respect for Scott as well.

If he says that, he will be full of shit and lying through his teeth.  The only thing Scott could really do to get widespread praise is announce that he's going to rehab and apologize to his former bandmates in both of his bands for the trouble he has caused them.

Good points by both of you. Especially Scott apologizing & going to re-hab. That may be the only way he ever gets to work w/the other 3 ever again.

Scott changed his phone #'s yrs. ago & didn't forward them to Deleo's/Kretz, according to Dean. So that means most communication went through their tour managers & others. After all the times they turned the other cheek for Scott. That about says it all.

STP has officially become a rock & roll cliche folks. It sucks, but I'll continue to support the Deleos because I love their writing. You know it's all going down in flames when Scott finally releases a statement too. This is only going to get uglier. I can't wait, I guess. It's not like we can control the situation anyway so we can either buckle in and absorb the ride or move on. As lame and stupid of a direction as this has taken, I can't look away now. At least it will be entertaining I guess.

We could say you were right for most of it. Vaporized seemed full of BS.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts perfectly. It's a soap opera. But it's OUR soap opera. We care about the characters, and we're in for one hell of a ride.
When STP had a cookout after filming the video for the Core single "Plush," Weiland made jerk chicken that was "spectacular," Dean raves.

Chester seems to think Linkin Park is his #1 priority. I doubt he will fight to make STP succeed. And I assume he'll just bolt if things don't go successfully.

To me this is a hell of a lot more fun than if STP had just split, the DeLeos/Kretz had rode off into the sunset and it was just Scott's Purple at the Core tours.  If we're not going to have the original STP lineup together, then I want as much drama as possible (and new music from all parties involved, obviously).

Also I believe we should start calling Chester Chester Hagarton, lol.

Chester is officially part of STP now.

It's a good time for him. Linkin Park only has a few shows this year and they were already on a bit of a break because their DJ is doing his film.

I really think Chester is going into this with the utmost respect for the whole band. As you could hear at the end Chester said of Scott, "We wish nothing but the best for Scott. Great singer. Help participate in making some of the best records of all time . Wish nothing but the best for him."

I feel like for STP this is a good thing. Remember that Chester himself if a huge fan. I imagine if Scott wanted to come back that Chester would bow out with no drama because he has Linkin Park to fall back on.

Maybe this is all an attempt to shake some sense into Scott, or maybe it's just the DeLeo brother and Kretz wanting to do what they love and make/play music.

I get how the name thing is an issue, but that too could change and they could have just used it now to get the word out.

It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Great 1st post.  Welcome to the board!

As someone else pointed out, why the fuck does Kretzel look so short? He looks like he's slightly taller than Danny Devito.

Chester seems like a sincere fellow and I'm ecstatic about the fact that he's a huge STP fan. I wonder if $TP will start playing longer sets now that they have a singer that can stand up for longer than 80 minutes.

I don't blame the Deleos and Kretzel for replacing Scott's drunk and unreliable ass. I wish Scott and The Walkabouts the best of luck though.

His dream since 1997 of creating a viable band without Scott has finally come true.
