As I've let all of this set it I'm very conflicted. I was the biggest Weiland fan boy there was but when I first heard of this it was "Fuck him, new music" Then it kinda set in and it was very weird listening back to old records thinking "This type of music won't happen again" and at this point I've come to peace with it. Though still very very pissed at Weiland for letting himself get to this point where he is so bad that he would be replaced in STP. And everyone should have seen this was an issue when they recorded separately and it showed in self titled in my opinion there was no passion behind the songs. It just wasn't there besides maybe one or two of the songs. I think a younger version of me would probably not be as ok with this but in my old age of 31, the way I look at it's either this, or nothing. It is what it is, sit back and enjoy good rock music again. The new song is good, it's better than almost anything on self titled. So, fuck it, bring it on
Though clearly everyone is missing the point of everything lately. It's very clear that Kretz is a Gypsy and hasn't aged since 1994. And I, for one, welcome our new Kretz overlord.
