I must have been at a different show than all those people because I have no idea what they are talking about. All the people I was standing next to loved the show and I didn't hear a single complaint around me. I didn't see anyone walk out and leave, didn't even hear any heckling around me at all! This was my 22nd time seeing Scott in concert (5th time seeing him solo) and people are completely overreacting. Yes it's true about the whole announcement about him not being in the building and he did come on stage 30 mins late, But I have no idea what they are talking about him being all fucked up. I've seen him in all types of states over the years and he seemed pretty with it last night. He seemed to be in a good mood when he came one stage all smiles and he even took off his sunglasses pretty quickly. (Usually he will leave them on for about half the show) He was not forgetting lyrics, I'm assuming the people who are saying this are not familiar with the version of Crackerman he is doing. He was not slurring his words and he was just doing the normal in between song banter. At one point in between songs when Scott was talking a corner of the crowd started chanting "SIGN HER BOOK SIGN HER BOOK", Scott laughed and said hold on or something, Then a few songs later he went over to her, then started playing with one of the lights on the stage making funny faces, he was going to sign her book but I don't think he had a pen. So he said something along the lines of "after the show we will take it backstage and bring it back, Don't worry I won't keep it, what am I gonna do put up a poster of myself in my room" haha, And good old Scotty he kept his word, after the show they sent someone out to grab books from a handful of people in the crowd and Scott signed them and brought the books back out to the people.
As far as the actual performance goes I think the guys just need more practice doing the STP songs. They are putting their own little spin on the songs but are having a hard time keeping up with Scott, I noticed all the guys kept looking at the teleprompter just be able to keep time with Scott. I don't know why people are saying the other guys seemed aggravated with Scott because I didn't see it. I think it was them just looking more focused trying to play the songs. I could definitely tell Doug was not as laid back as he usually is. The setlist was the same as the other shows no surprises. I was really excited about hearing Naked Sunday and Where The River Goes, but they just didn't come together right. I can admit this wasn't the best performance i've seen from him but it's not nearly as bad as people are saying, The band just needs to practice more, they were so strong on the songs they usually do but when it came to the other STP songs you could tell they just haven't mastered them yet. But practice makes perfect and this is just the beginning of the tour.
There was absolute crap at the merch booth, the opening band had triple the amount of merch than Scott did. They were selling 1 t-shirt with Scotts face from the HIG cover and it said Scott Weiland, Then they had his book, the christmas CD and a mug and that was it. I was really hoping he would have new shirts for this tour.
Me and my boyfriend waited outside to see if would could catch any of the guys. We saw Doug leave and thanked him for a great show, At around 1 AM Scott came out and was getting into a car with his fiance. We told him how much we always love getting to see him and how great the show was. He seemed very appreciative and thanked us for coming.
My boyfriend took some pictures i'll post them as soon as I can.
