I don't understand why 12BB gets so praise, to be honest. The production was phenomenal but the actual material was pretty damn week. I'd say the opposite applies with HiG. The songwriting was levels above 12BB but the production and the cast of musicians is what made it suffer. I must be the only one who thinks that though.

I too prefer HIG over 12BB... Missing Cleveland, Paralysis, Tangle With Your Mind, and many others are simply wonderful in my eyes.  my first listen to 12BB I was very underwhelmed, however it has grown on me steadily and I can say I like it now.  But I don't adore it like so many others.

STP > Scott solo.  Not sure how to get STP back in the saddle.

Hey Brett,

We already tricked them with that one time, you think they'd fall for it again? Seriously though, I was thinking today...and its been said that Scott is doing a more rock solo record.....but STP is one of the greatest rock bands of all time.... I mean really? I don't get it but if this happens and STP really is not together, then I will be extremely pissed off....I went off on a whole rant in my brain about how we drop bombs on unknowing men, women and children, most people don't even have clean water to drink, a good chunk of people can't find jobs, men are killing themselves cause they can't feed their wife and kids, little girls get blown up by land mines trying to get a pail of water, but yet here we sit in this wealth of mind numbing entertainment with anything we want at anytime just a click away and we can't even keep STP together....WTF? Did they forget something or what? I mean I'm glad they have the luxury to destroy one of my favorite things on this goddamn planet. But really most people have to work well into their fifties at least.....I mean how boring would it be to just sit at home as a badass millionaire musician? Oh wait ok nevermind just forget I said anything I get it, I get it, fuck working hard, fuck helping people so much you can't even imagine how much in a thousand life times.....And all of these thoughts are based on rumors....I mean if STP is OK then STP is cool and I'm a tard, oh well I'm always a tard, but why is Scott making a rock record with out STP!? I DON"T FUCKING GET IT! Someone help me understand, cause I think this is just a pile of bullshit if there is any truth in STP being done. Please don't jump on me, these are just personal thoughts I had to myself that I decided to share and I'm not even sure why, but if this is true then I'm totally on to something here. If not oh well. You think we can sucker them back into STP by pulling the "your a spoiled American, get back to work" card? I doubt it, I might be right about what I say but I doubt it matters, hell most of my life doesn't even matter....oh fuck this is getting depressing, I'm leaving now....  :'( :'( :'( BAHAHAHA! :)

am I in the minority who thinks 12BB is the best album Scott's ever been involved with?
Oh wow good question......uhhhhh.....my brain hurts from trying to figure it out, can I get back to you in say 10 to 900 years? I might have a better understanding of things at that point.....
It's a very tough call to make. I hope I forget this question though as I can't really compute comparing STP and 12BB...Its a total system overload.

Thank you! I've always felt this way too. Musically 12BB is different, and I have grown to like it, but not like I like HIG. Musically i think HIG is the perfect combination of STP and 12BB, when people say there isn't enough "soul" or whatever in HIG, you're exactly right, the production makes it sound empty. If this had production like 12BB or any of the STP albums, HIG would be even better. I am really looking forward to this upcoming album, I just hope the production is better. Anyway, I wonder when the first tour date will be announced?
STP: 2/19/2011 - Thackerville, OK; 4/30/2011 - Birmingham, AL; 8/16/2011 - Austin, TX; 8/17/2011 - Dallas, TX; 11/5/2011 - Concho, OK
SW: 3/27/2013 - Dallas, TX; 4/30/2014 - Dallas, TX; 5/3/2014 - Little Rock, AR; 9/20/2014 - Shreveport, LA; 11/9/2015 - Dallas, TX

Well, Scott was in... shall we say... an altered state of mind during the 12BB era.

IMO, a totally solid record, nonetheless, and my absolute favorite aside from any of STPs work.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

My job has me on a crazy schedule so I'm kind of out of the loop but!

I'm pretty stoked for some new Weiland music, regardless of what band it is with!!!

I do wish he'd go with a producer that would produce som major label shit tho. I agree with Grean's production, the music suffers, though the songs they write together are great. Some inspired stuff, I feel.

Hope we get to hear it soon!!!!!!!! B33n too long since we heard some legit rock from Scoot Woilind.

What an odd place to play. It's a pretty intimate venue though, so I may have to check it out.
6/4/08 - Detroit, MI - The Fillmore (Red Wings win the Cup); 7/7/09 - Lansing, MI - Common Ground Festival; 8/19/10 - Grand Rapids, MI - Deltaplex; 8/26/10 - Detroit, MI - Fox Theatre; 4/20/11 - Detroit, MI - The Fillmore; 8/18/12 - Pontiac, MI - Silverdome

I think if Scott played longer shows like Eddie Vedder/Chris Cornell and had a better reputation of showing up on time, he could play better venues with his solo band.

^My thoughts exactly. Weilands reputation as a performer in general isn't the best, much less a solo performer. If he showed up early or on time, worked hard/rehearsed, performed, bid his goodbyes and took off, he'd be better off in my opinion.

Danny Thompson said in his facebook that he will be in Jersey and NYC with Scott early March again.
Danny is playing with Alan Parsons from March 15th onwards, so the dates will probably be before then.

Doug posted this:

"Looks like the up coming Scott Weiland Solo tour is being extended to the end of March and possibly beyond."

And I asked him about any west coast dates (since I will be in LA in March, yay!) and he answered:

"As far as I know it's going to be just mid west- and east coast stuff. But the routes not final yet."

So it seems I won't get to see them this time :(
