New VR live DVD to be released.
« on: April 17, 2012, 05:39:41 AM »
As most of you know, there is a live STP DVD being released by Eagle Rock Entertainment, however it seems a VR DVD is as well...

Eagle Rock has set a May 25 release date for "Let It Roll - Live In Germany", a new concert DVD from VELVET REVOLVER. The disc was filmed at the Palladium in Cologne, Germany in March 2008 for the legendary German TV series "Rockpalast". The concert was near the end of the tour for their second album "Libertad" and came just a few days before the band went on hiatus following the departure of singer Scott Weiland. The set draws heavily on the "Libertad" album but also features tracks from their debut album "Contraband" and covers of STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and GUNS N' ROSES tracks.

I found it interesting that it was set to release prior to the STP DVD.

I always thought it was odd how little life The Last Fight had when played live.  I don't know what was missing, but even when Scott sounded fine the song had no soul live.

Cool, thanks for the info! Is this one also released in Blu-ray? Or only DVD? (I can't access the roadrunner records site from my office)

Amazing.  ;D

But I'm happy for this. I have the show on audio but not video, so I'll pick it up for sure.

Very cool!  Would much rather a show from just prior to the Libertad release where they were mixing in some Libertad songs but also had "Wish You Were Here" AND "Psychokiller"

I'll take it though, would like to see how the body language between Scott & the band members look.

Wasn't this the gig where Scott totally screws up the lyrics to a song? Sings the wrong lyrics over the wrong part, leading to lots of confused looks from Slash & Duff?

Maybe I am thinking of the wrong gig, it's one of the few very high quality pro-shot bootlegs that is out there though.

I believe it is Slash who starts playing the wrong part of Sucker Train Blues (I think he starts to solo way too early) and Scott keeps singing over it while the band recovers. This could be why they aren't including that song on the DVD. I know it's on youtube to see if I'm wrong!

Hiatus? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

But I digress, sounds interesting... But I wish they were releasing unseen footage from 2005 instead. Would kill for a pro-shot You Got No Right.

+1, that song is amazing! Also, the band wasn't on the verge of collapsing back then...
