Even though I'd rather see them get a new album out by the end of 2012 (rather than 2013 like it looks like it could be now) rather than do this, I'm happy that the band intend to tour because it kills the chances of a Velvet Revolver tour.

I hope the Core tour is not until the summer though so Scott can get a solid 6 months off from the road, and so the band can at least start work on the new album before hitting the road.  It will be awesome though to hear Naked Sunday and Where The River Goes live.

STP Shows: 5/1/08, 6/24/08, 12/31/08, 7/1/09, 5/25/10, 6/5/10, 10/29/10, 9/22/12, 5/30/13, 9/1/13
Velvet Revolver Shows: 7/22/06, 9/15/07
Scott Weiland Shows: 12/14/08, 12/8/11

I simply loved reading this on the official site, it means that things are already in motion! :)

I think that what you said would be the most logical thing for them to do. The re-edition of Core should be out before the tour, and that probably takes more time to happen, so yeah, I don't think they will tour before the summer...and in the meantime they can start working on the new album, like Scott said they would in a couple of interviews.

Good news. I hope that it's a summer tour. Scott definitely should take some time off before they hit the road again. Needs 3 months of rest and 3 months to reactivate his Core voice.

I'm kinda bummed out in a way about this actually... I hope the tour is a quick one. Not to be a debbie downer but hearing Core in it's entirety at this point just doesn't excite me. The only thing that excites me is the possibility of some vintage never-before-seen Core era footage coming out and the tiny chance of hearing the remastered version of Only Dying. To me the tour is just pro-longing the release of #7 which probably won't even come out till 13' now because of this tour.

i agree with stpunderground im all about the new album rather than just hearing core. Of course id love to get a dvd of all that footage and other cool stuff but for me its always about the new albums with stp they never let me down. I hope they keep making great differnt music. Im hooked on self titled still lol im excited to see what this new album is gonna branch into is it rock? or Pop? or could it be some Bossa nova mixed in there to? i cant wait please let there be a new album this year!

This is awesome. I hope they pull out some old live gems like Andy Warhol too.

I agree with Brett, Scott needs some time off. I hope he really works at getting back his Core voice for this tour... and a beard while he's at it.

I think the Scott on this tour is going to surprise a lot of people. Scott seems to be somewhat sentimental, at least to me, if so that would mean good things are coming. I really think you can expect 2008 type performances from Scott. I don't know what happened to him, you cannot say old age, because you can see a big decline in energy from 2008 to 2009 and an even bigger decline from 2009 to 2010. Personally, I think he has been going through the motions and only touring for money. Hopefully, this 2012 will be a lot different... and I think it will be.

To make this tour more exciting they should do an acoustic set for some songs. STT sounds "boring" today (take this in a veeery light way), acoustic would be much interesting, and to complete the set I'd add Creep, Sin, Wet my bed, and Plush -but this one probably HAS to be played like nowadays, so Piece of Pie instead

Are they going to play all the songs off of Core first and then some other songs, or are they going to play all the songs off of Core with other songs mixed between?

I passed this to Eric when I pitched the CORE 20 tour last August - but who knows what they'll go with...

I wouldn't mind them playing Core all the way through then doing an encore set with other songs.

Vegas, you got no love for Tiny on those sets!

Anyway, I think IF they played all of Core straight through, then an encore would be Down, Interstate and Trippin'

So instead of a new album this year we are getting a Core tour instead?
Fuck.

I think we might be able to get both...at least that was what Scott said both times they asked him about it. But it takes time to make a good album, so it might come out at the end of this year / beginning of 2013.

What I do hope is that this time, when they make the new album, they don't do it in between tours like last time, I'd rather they take longer but record it like they normally would, more relaxed and not running around in between shows. Preferably all together in the same room...

Either way, I'm happy with whatever we get this year, as long as the guys stick together and keep giving us their awesome music  ;D . It makes me happy that they keep on doing stuff together, whatever that may be, a tour, a re-issue, a new album...hell, even the coffee table book! 8)
