1994 Rolling Stone Vote
« on: December 22, 2011, 03:58:55 AM »
I know critics hated STP, but I never knew critics voted them the 'worst new band' in 1994. First, are they fucking stupid? Second, how the hell where the new in 1994? Did Rolling Stone ever hear of Core? Finally, everybody at Rolling Stone should have been fired. Although Purple was not their first album, if the critics were making their opinion off of Purple as the first album, how the hell can you deem a band 'worst new band' off of Purple? FUCKING PURPLE!

Fucking purple? dude, what the fuck are you talking about?
As a fan, i dont give a fuck what the critics says. The only critics i care about are the ones from other fans and my own.

Besides, that was more than 15 years ago. Who cares now anyway?
Seems like you left me when you broke down

I'm pretty sure it was 1993 when that vote happened...the year that STP really broke into the mainstream and Core gained a lot of momentum and popularity
My STP shows: 8/10/2008, 7/19/2009, 10/10/2009, 5/22/2010, 4/26/2011, 4/24/2015   Weiland solo: 1/29/2009, 11/29/2012, 3/13/2015    VR: 8/5/2007

I am saying Purple is a great record, how good they be voted worst band. Oh, I am sorry we cannot talk about something that happened 15 years ago. Should I not listen to Purple since it is more than 15 years old. Who says I can't talk about something more than 15 years old, fuck off.

I was watching Rockumentary Remix and they said 1994. I don't know if they made a mistake by saying 1994, it does not make much sense.

Rolling Stone hasn't been relevant since the 70's.

They're just one of many companies that started out with good intentions and then slowly sold out and began catering to pop culture and mainstream bullshit.  It's especially funny how they go back & forth over things all the time, bashing them & praising them while trying to stay hip and relevant.  Fuck em.

Look, the vote results were probably published in (early) 1994 but they were about the year 1993, just like the Academy Awards are about the films that came the year before. That's why these things are generally held early in the year. the rockumentary also said that they were voted best new band by fans - that truly says something. F*ck critics.
Merry christmas!
