A Song for Sleeping
« on: November 02, 2011, 08:30:50 PM »
Time to stir a lil controversy>) so the song is obviously about Noah Weiland, but at the chorus, he alternates between the lines "There's so much I could teach you if you only had the time" and "There so much God could teach you if you only had the time"

Do you think Scott is comparing himself to God, or at least the initial deity-like reverence children have for their parents at young ages? YOU decide:D

You'll never lose it cuz you never had it

Haha no way! I think it means exactly what he says...he can teach Noah as his father and God can teach him as well being the Higher Power that he is

I don't think anyone has ever listened to A Song for Sleeping and thought... Damn I can't believe Weiland just compared himself to God!

Although I really like both ...I think that if everyone here voted for their least favorite STP track it would be this song and MC5 in the finals lol

That's so sad that A Song for Sleeping would be in the finals:/ the only thing remotely bad about it is that the guitar track is a little repetitive. besides that its a beautiful song.
