Sounds awesome, and it could be a work in progress. Hopefully this is on their new album because it is one of their heaviest things ive heard them do in a while. Maybe they are returning to their core/purple sound for this new album/20th anniversary event.

EDIT: Doesnt 2:48 to 2:52 of the video sound like part of the guitar solo on take a load off or is it just me?

They played a jam a lot like this at the Thackerville show in February, but it sounds like its evolved since then. I remember when they played t in Thackerville it was one of my favorite parts of the show. Thanks for sharing.

They did something similar in Cleveland.  But I agree it sounds a bit more evolved like they be turning it into a legit song.  I hope so I dig the guitar part a lot.  Would like to hear what it sounds like with lyrics instead of   oooooahhaooooaohaooooaohaaaoo  oooa   aooooawoohoooo

I know I was hoping to hear some lyrics. I think this could have potential to be a cool a cool song.

Yeah that certain part of the video does similar to the TALO solo.

This is really exciting, this "song" has a sound that I could see myself prefering to everything on self titled (which I'm not too fond of)..;

Wow, I was ready to burst everybody's bubble when I heard the beginning, because I heard that part before. However, as it progresses that does not sound fimiliar at all. One question though, if this was a upcoming tune why would they be performing it without lyrics. I highly doubt it is an upcoming song. Let me say this though, it seems like a new jam and if this is their style in the studio it will be a badass record.

Also, it reminds me a bit of All in The Suit That You Wear.

the song brother by pearl jam originally didnt have lyrics (was released on lost dogs), then they added vocals on it. You never know it could be just a jam or maybe they are working/improvising it.

To be honest, I really don't care which direction STP goes. I am going to like it no matter what. Yes, I would prefer another Core/Purple, but albums like those are not possible to duplicate.

I was hoping this would be the sound they were goin with for the Self Titled album coz they were playing this more or less same tune back then. Hope they feel its evolved enough to go ahead with this sound for the next one coz it is bloody badass!!! Can imagine articles and fans going STP i like is back! :D But obviously all of us here will love whatever new material they come up with anyway eventually by the time its out :)

Potential here definitely, just depends what Scott's going to do with the vocals, that will make or break this song.
Bits of it remind me of the Coma bridge just before the solo, it's probably the "ooh-ooh-ooh" thing that's going on that's doing it!
