Big Empty "The Crow"
« on: July 01, 2011, 06:39:35 AM »
Hello!! I watched "the crow" a few months back and I have this doubt since then.
at the end of the movie, it plays "big empty".I don't know if it's me or what but is it possible that it is a different version from the album? It sounds a little different to me...

Since film soundtracks often have a 5.1 Surround Sound Mix, most songs will be slightly re-mixed to fit this format, which could include putting the vocals towards the center channel and the instruments in the surrounding four. I used to pop in my crow DVD solely to listen to Big Empty in "Surround" on my home theater.

So yes, it's a re-mixed version for the surround sound, sounds really cool too. A similar process was used for the CORE DVD-AUDIO disc that emulated 5.1 from the original masters.
My only exit is a one way out...

Awesome post... along these lines then there is indeed one reason to buy Ben Affleck's "Daredevil" movie on DVD. At the end, there's a terrific 5.1 surround mix of Fuel's "Won't Back Down" that's absolutely incredible in native surround sound.
