I was in the front row near the other gate to field access (108). Impressive that they were able to sneak in because the guy on our side was tough on the guys (he did let some girls through that claimed they "lost" their tickets).
The boys waited until there was a decent crowd getting their tickets checked then just flew by the "secutiry" guy. I was pretty impressed with their quickness, myself.
Was that horrible net in your way, too? I wish they would have taken it down or let us know when we purchased tickets that it was going to be there - it really fucked up my view. The constant line of people walking to get on/off the field was terrible, too - like the net wasn't bad enough.
Anyone else notice the bizarre mix of people last night? There were little kids there with their parents (I saw several 8-10 year olds with their rocker moms/dads) - and senior citizens (60+) alike! I also saw more jean shorts than I could ever imagine in one place... only in Cleveland.
Made me a bit embarrassed to call this my hometown. Denim shorts are not good on anyone over the age of 5 or under the age of 80.
ALso fun fact, there's a monitor up there that has the lyrics for Scott. Its front middle on the ground.
He's been using the monitor since the "reunion" in '08
All in all - great show. Scott sounded very fluid and alert - not at all spacey or distant. He talked to the audience a good bit - mentioning that Cleveland is a "special place to him" where he "spent his formative years - ages 5-13"
The band sounded great - they were all spot-on. I have absolutely no complaints as far as the band goes - except that Scott still isn't taking off his shirt (or pants, for that matter!) - but that's probably only something Cori, Laura, or myself would bitch about and not you guys. Haha. Awesome night - glad the boys are still sounding this great and having fun doing what they do!
