Scott could kick it into high gear any time. No question, he still has it. However, he seems to be comfortable with a more mellow approach live now for whatever reason.
Called sobriety pal. Stage fright happens to over 90% of musicians. Just image walkin out in who knows what kinda performance, crowd attitude, security actions. Just to kill that fear involves some type of chemical. High gear in my world is recklessness due to chemicals. Age has nothing to do with it. Just look at StevenTyler jumpin of things breakin bones completely reckless but great entertainment watching a guy go spiraling all over the stage on.
Tellin ya since the May2010 shows at best if any he has had 2 or 3 drinks in him the entire night. eg. #1 no swearing or muthafuca type stuff. #2 No minutes of rambling between songs. #No climbin ups thing like in STT
Nowadays he talks about the economy and the cost of everything and even handed a fan back their sun glasses because he said "you probably had to work hard to pay for those". Even when fans are being dealt with attitudes by security he would preach to the fan not the security about tickets prices and why waste your money.
Do you think he'd give a rat's ass if he was OXY'd out or pissed drunk? Now he has more emotion, care, reality, natural expressions and passion in his behavior. Shit I made him full blown blush at the wrif party in Detroit after he finished a joke. I said "Keep it going Scotty" right in the front row and he completely turned red.
I don't know what drugs or even alcohol you've done in your life but you do not blush on any of em.
The best thing about Scott not on nothin which all chems especially opiates and booze dehydrate and damage your vocal muscle instantly. BigBangBaby back next maybe even harder ones on his voice will appear.
I just think personally due to tech probs and occasional feedback he's trying to slowly lose the megaphone and emulates it buy cupping his hand over the mic. He has sung every STP megaphone song without it even D and B and STT except Naked Sunday. I hope my instincts are wrong cause thats a great off the wall approach plus a trademark of Scott and STP.
