ILS is arguably their most popular song..and it never gets old to me

im not voting against interstate because of how overplayed it is... adhesive just happens to be my favorite song from STP behind only 7CT
 
and even if we're voting objectively on songs that best represent the band  i would still vote for Adhesive... STP is an albums band, and in every album you find those amazing tracks that you wont hear on the radio that are just as good, if not better than the singles from the respective album.. sure ILS is extremely popular and may get alot of people into the band, but if you really want to know what STP is about then dig deeper into their catalog and youll discover treasures like Adhesive that show off the bands talents and them at their best as a cohesive unit ... just my opinion though...

You can't hold how overplayed ILS is on the radio against it, if we're voting objectively here.  How much air play it gets doesn't change how the song sounds.  That isn't any fault of the song that it's insanely popular.

 ILS has made STP millions of dollars and Adhesive hasn't made them shit.

Exactly. Adhesive was never a single. Never played live. It's a track meant for the DIE-HARD's. Whose to say that if it was given the single treatment, it could have done something, but it obviously was never meant to be.

ILS is a great, timeless rock song that is catchy as hell. OF COURSE the masses will eat it up. That goes without saying.

If it ends up Plush against ILS, I'd go with ILS in a heartbeat.

I would like to suggest NOT voting for your favorite/most popular, but instead, vote on the best/greatest song that really exemplifies who and what STP is all about.

Explain to me why Adhesive cannot possibly capture the "greatness" of what STP is? Because they don't play it live? Because it's not a chart toping single? Because 98% of the general population don't know it?

Scott Weiland himself played Adhesive on Camp Freddy radio back when he was with VR because of how much he appreciated it. When I met the DeLeos, they even expressed the same feelings about Adhesive (and Tiny Music for that matter).

A lot of die hards feel Adhesive encompasses what STP is all about: making amazing music while pushing the limits, being different, and never doing the same thing twice.
