Pretty awesome. I know we've done forms of it but having a tournament that eventually pins Plush vs. Interstate with all of us voting would be really cool. Come on Rik/Ivy - set this up!!!

Go for it. I guess you can start a new thread for each matchup and include a poll pinning each song against each other? Hopefully we get good participation.  The thing I don't like is that many songs are pitted against each other from the same album. It would be cool to have all the songs mixed around. Like No Way Out pit against Adhesive or something - how awesome would that be?

So you got Core (12 songs), Purple (12 songs if you include "the second album"), Tiny Music (12 songs), 4 (11), Shangri, (13), STP (12) - that's a total of 72 songs. You'll have to do a field of more than 64 with some play in games. That's not including the b-side stuff (heed, drive me away), All in the Suit, Dancing Days and some live stuff they do. I would think we want those in the mix too. May come close to 80 songs. I guess the 15 and 16 seeds would all have to be play-ins. Let me know if you need help building the bracket.

I was busy all weekend, but I'll get going on it... Before I go ahead and just post it, I'll give a rundown of what I've come up with and how I plan to do it and get all your feedback if I should proceed...

This is just a test to see if this format works and you guys like it...
I'm thinking of just creating 1 new thread per round with all the match ups listed like below... this will drastically cut down on new threads and a ton of replies that i have to keep up with... however, the only down side i can think of to this and not voting in the thread is that anyone could vote more than once and over and over, thus making it a bit unfair... that is unless we all swear by the honestly policy....
(EDIT: there's a space for comments after you vote, I'd suggest that everyone comment with just their BE handle to signify that they did indeed vote, and any vote that doesn't have a BE handle attached to it will not be counted, sound cool?)

I found a website where you can create an NCAA style bracket for music as well, but it looked to be time consuming.

should I include the unreleased songs? (Heed the Water Whisper, Learning to Drive, etc.) or just keep it to the album material only, including All in the Suit?

don't think I'm including any covers (Dancing Days).

need to know what the consensus is so I know how to build the brackets... either way I figured out a solution, but they would be vastly different in the setup....

dont sweat the B sides unless it's easy to fit them in I'd say. If it makes your life easier to just do the studio stuff that'll be just as fun.
