1. Down
2. Sex Type Thing
3. Lounge Fly
4. Interstate Love Song
5. Still Remains
6. And So I Know
7. Hello, It's Late
8. Big Empty (Toughest selection by FAR)
9. Adhesive
10. Army Ants
11. Crackerman
12. Seven Caged Tigers
13. Kitchenware and Candybars

Yeah I know. I cheated. I REFUSE to put Long Way Home in as a closer just because of default. So I went with my favorite closer to an album.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

I should have done the same.  I think we have a similar opinion of Long Way Home.

Ok. I'm gonna take a mulligan. I originally picked my favorite tracks from numbers 1-12. However, I don't like how my picks flow collectively as a whole. (Specifically 5-9) So I decided to swap out a few picks. My UPDATED list:

1. Down
2. Sex Type Thing
3. Lounge Fly
4. Interstate Love Song
5. Still Remains
6. And So I Know
7. Trippin' On A Hole.. (Replacing Hello, It's Late)
8. Too Cool Queenie (Replacing Big Empty)
9. Adhesive
10. Army Ants
11. Crackerman
12. Seven Caged Tigers
13. Kitchenware and Candybars

I think that makes a killer album.
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I'm just sittin' on this merry-go-round, and the music is too loud..

Great thread. Although I'm frankly shocked I'm the only one with this #1 pick, one of the band's greatest songs, period.

1. Meatmotherfuckinplow
2. Vaseline
3. Tumble in the Rough
4. Interstate Love Song
5. Sin
6. No Way Out
7. Trippin'
8. Too Cool Queenie (outdoes Piece of Pie by only a gnat's wing)
9. Plush (wow, this was by far the easiest, with the exception of Plush, #9s are a real weak spot for STP)
10. MC5
11. Atlanta
12. Seven Caged Tigers
13. Long Way Home (this has to be a given since it's the only track 13)

This didn't exactly play out the way I would have thought-- would have thought my favorite albums get the most representation, but overall, it was pretty even. Although SLDD I feel is the weakest of the 5 records, and it would have had only 1 song here had it not been for the obligatory #13.

Purple - 3
Tiny Music - 3
No. 4 - 3
Core - 2
SLDD - 2

Good taste... but personally no 'best of' could be complete without at least Silvergun Superman and Kitchenware & Candybars - maybe it was just an oversight ;)

Fantasy STP Album
« Reply #74 on: December 29, 2008, 11:43:57 PM »
After looking through the STP catalog, I created a fantasy album just for fun. It was tough choosing only 13 songs to put on it considering they have 5 albums worth of material, along with other unreleased material. I also believe that tracklisting is very important so I took a little time to arrange the chosen songs into a certain order. This is what I compiled:

1. Meatplow
2. Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart
3. You Can't Drive Me Away
4. Big Empty
5. Interstate Love Song
6. And So I Know
7. Dancing Days (Led Zep Cover)
8. Naked Sunday
9. Plush
10. Adhesive
11. Army Ants
12. I Got You
13. Kitchenware & Candybars

I'd like to hear your thoughts and/or your "fantasy STP album'.
