^^^ aww man, you musta been on the lawn for the Burgettsown show, I know they had some problems with Scotts mic at that show. Fortunately, I was about in the fourth row for that show and Scott and the band really sounded good at that show too. I did not even know until after the show that there were mic problems in certain parts of the facility.
This show was at Indiana University of Pennsylvania at their brand new facility called the Kovalchick Complex. Opening act was Rose Hill Drive(
http://rosehilldrive.com/ ) who put on a decent set.
Was a little concerned about the sound quality after the opener but STP's sound system had quite a bit more muscle behind it. This was on a college campus, I think there would have been a beefier crowd there but it was Good Friday and most of the students had cleared out of the campus for Easter weekend. I would say the venue was 50%-60% full.
STP sounded good, their set was pretty tight and professional. Got up on the rail for this show right in front of Robert DeLeo which was a pretty cool vantage point. The guys looked like they were having a good time. There were a few crowd surfers, mostly females, tried to help catch a few of them when they were tossed our way. Was hoping they may do the 5 to 1 Doors cover tune as they had done it in Australia recently but no luck. With that being said, the set list was nice, they played for about an hour an half, mostly straight through. Robert DeLeo teased a little Kashmir and Lou Reed(Walk on the Wild Side) during the show. Just like the Pittsburgh show I saw last August, they did some loose jams as a preface to some of the songs. Fun evening.
