Thing is, from a UK perspective, this could have been a big show for VR but it turned into an absolute joke. The likes of Jonathan Ross/Ricky Gervais etc. in the studio were falling about the place laughing at the band, it was just embarrassing.
Do you mean noone knew who they were?  Why were the pricks laughing about VR?  I must've missed all that.

They just treated them as a joke band and, to be fair, that's how they came across. They didn't fit in with the whole "serious & worthy" bullshit vibe these events have which should have been a good thing but it didn't work out that way. The presenters were pretty much like "We have to show you this" then "Well, that was Velvet Revolver (smirk/roll eyes), now on with the show". The whole thing was terrible.

I COULD HAVE SWORN seeing back in the day footage of Scott being put into a police car around the time of his first arrest. Not sure if it was the day of the actual offense, but i remember seeing it on the old mtv rockumentary or something, back when he still had facial hair. Anybody know what im talkin about or is my mind making shit up?

I've seen footage of that. It's from '95 I think.

This is around the time of his metamorphosis.
He looks like he's going on a picnic, not to the police station..

This is around the time of his metamorphosis.

lol - my friends and I used to joke that Scott 'died' sometime in 1995 and was replaced by an imposter (a la Paul McCartney).  This helped explain his drastic change in appearance and vocal style in such a short period of time.
I’m here to bleed for all the lust and lonely nights.

I've seen weirder things happen my friend...
To check this out, we should ask him questions about things that happened to him around 1993 and see if he remembers them.  Obviously WE know all the facts, so we can judge whether it's really him or not.

That is why it is a cover, even if he could sing like Scott, which he cannot, why would we want to hear that? We would just listen to the original. Covers are supposed to sound different, I personally liked his take on it.
