It's another piece of paper (along with B.A. degrees) that mean jack squat in the real world. It really should read, 'I blew $80,000 of my parents money, and all I got was this lousy piece of paper with no job.'
Dedicated. Disgusting. Disturbing.

I go to IVC, most of my friends go to OCC though.  I'll probably take a class there at some point.

Yeah, when I first got my AA degree I thought employers would actually give a shit. Not once have I ever been asked to elaborate on it in a job interview.  At least in the military I would start off at a higher rank.

80 grand? Shit, you went to the wrong college. I paid $0 for my Associates Degree.
Yay financial aid!

Essentially an Associates Degree is a high school diploma with a gold sticker on it. It basically means you went to college for 2 years and took your basics (but going to college for 2 years doesn't automatically get you one).
I've yet to see a job requirement that says "Associates Degree required."

"Went to school for two years" and "earned an associates degree" are two different things. My brother-in-law spent three years in school and never earned a degree.

To answer Hawk's question: an associates degree is something you earn from a college, not a university.  Its a two, not four-year degree.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

My college didn't cost THAT much. I just tossed out a number. I do KNOW some people that have student loans that high though. Actually, a close friend of my wife's was studying marine biology, and she racked up a total similar to what I posted. Now she's in the military to pay it off.
