Our boys sounded great tonight! Some interesting tidbits about the show/venue I would like to share:
The seating is bullshit at Winstar. Was told that AA VIP seating was front row, but come to find out there are four rows for special members of the casino in front of the VIP seating. The ones that showed up for the special seating did not look like they belonged at a STP concert, and they did not even fill all the seats. One of them even asked me, "Is this supposed to be all acoustics?" So me and my crew just hurdled all four rows of seating as the boys were taking the stage and did not get crap from no one. It was a good thing too, because barely anyone was standing next to the rail before we rushed up to it. People begin to fill in a bit after that. Still did not have the concert atmosphere at all. Tired of STP playing at casinos.
Damn, did the band sound great! Rob had some very nice energy, continuously pounding his chest to the many who gave some love his way. Didn't see too much out of Dean because I was on the left side of the stage. And we all know Eric was in his own little world. Scott didn't have any lyrical flubbs and his voice was effin' amazing
Scott had the dancing going on tonight! He got really into it during what seemed like a 7 minute extended version of Still Remains which was great to hear. Down was jammin'! Sad to hear that Creep was not played, but I have heard it so many times. I think the break served the boys very well. Scott, Eric, Dean, and Rob were having a grand time together up on stage.
Scott was sober and in great spirits. Not too talkative to the crowd, except when he noticed someone flipping him off continuously (the guy was drunk off his ass) and Scott promptly said, "Why pay for a show at $90 just to flip someone off?" When my mom yelled "kick his ass", the guy was showered with boos.
Towards the end of the show, someone rushed the left side of the stage and got on his knees and praised Scott, and hugged the hell out of Dean. As security was taking him away, he got out of their grasp and tried to get to spread some love to Rob. It was very funny and the boys got a kick out of it.
Overall a great show! Well worth the money! Saw that VIP tickets for the Kid Rock show that was coming to the Winstar were $150 so I figured that the money was well spent on STP!
Also, I heard that security was tough at the Winstar, but everyone had the cameras out and and were filming/taking pictures. And something crazy worth noting, a person paid a $100 for a setlist after the show. I love the band to death, but your gonna let some snotty nose punk make a 100 bucks by giving you a piece of paper. I've got a few STP setlists and none of them cost me a dime.
