Most of 12 Bar Blues is about Drugs and Sex...I dont think any of the songs are about his first wife except About Nothing

Desperation #5  - Most of the song was written while in rehab...he was full of detox drugs at the time.

Barbarella -  Drugs, how they've controlled his life and his failures.

About Nothing -  He was riding in a car with his wife (I believe) and they had a arguement, he got out of the car and ran off into the night.  It was something to that effect.

Where's The Man - trying to kick cold turkey

Divider - Drugs, hollywood, probably some junkie chick

Cool Kiss - About a stripper? he used to hang out with...they were too loaded to have sex.  He thinks she's dead now

The Date, Jimmy Was a Stimulator,  Lady.., Mockingbird Girl....I forget exactly what he said they were about but I'm sure there's a lot of drugs...sex and "some girl" in there.

Opposite Octave Reaction - He had his first orgy when he was 12...this song is about feeling perverted and feeling alienated or something to that effect.

Oh and Son wasn't about Noah.  The song was mainly written by someone else (the name escapes me) who had lost a son.  It touched Scott because he had already aborted several pregnancies and it was it was a sort of "what could have been" type song for him.

I can't find who, but "Son" is about a friend's son.

Victor Indrizzo's son, Zack.

Victor was the drummer and Scott's writing partner on 12BB

I have actually talked to a chick who claims to have be her... not in a "look at me" type of way. But she had a interesting story about it. Who knows if its real though, I dont know her personally. SHe's married with kids now. But she use to be a stripper. She has pix of her being a stipper (but none of her with Scott). I don't know if it was real or not, but it was interesting to listen to her talk about it.

12 Bar Blues was released in 1998. Noah wasn't born until 2000.

Not only that, it says "for Zack" in the liner notes for Son.

I can't wait to hear it, but in short- This album is confusing:
  • One or maybe two versions of the album released several months apart (if the second version is released at all, we'll see...).
  • A video for one song (paralysis)
  • A radio single for another (Missing Cleveland)
  • One confirmed tour date (no venues listed for the others)
  • New song leaks coming from Spin of all places
  • etc

At times it really seems like the left hand and the right hand are not working together at all.  Any rationale for releasing Missing Cleveland to the radio and releasing a video for Paralysis at the same time is beyond me.

Which song is the single?  Two simultaneous singles doesnt work well, imo.

I agree this confuses me too.  I mean Paralysis is the only song on his MySpace and there's a video for it, but Missing Cleveland is the single?  Sounds like some bad management to me.

not all of 12BB was about breaking up. "Son" is about Noah.

GOOD GOD!! I just found out "I" wrote this!!! "I" didn't, that was an attempt at my bf trying to join the party... under MY name, I guess I left the copmuter on, and he thought he was right. Silly rabbit, can't play in my league. Just WAIT till he gets home from work!!!

I know Son was not about Noah, although I'm quite impressed my bf got his sons name correct.

It is in the liner who its about.

He made me look uninformed... nice try... fucker!!! I'll cut him!!
