Everytime I heard them (or hear on a cd) do that song, it brought tears to my eyes. I don't know why. Has nothing to do with Michael, because it had that effect on me before he died.

Adhesive i think is just more mellow than sad.

but I'd say Kitchenware and Atlanta are pretty sad.

I can't listen to VR doing Wish you were here without crying for many reasons, 1) The song itself 2) that video dedicated to Michael 3) The look on Scott's face 4) And it was a total surprise when VR played it here, so it takes me back to that concert every time...

I also think "And So I Know" could be one.

I'd have to say Black Again. It always gives me a heavy feeling.

Kitchenware & Candybars - that one always sounds so sad, both melodically and lyrically. And from comments made in the past, I'm sure Scott was very upset about the abortion since you could tell that for a long time he wanted to be a dad.

I wouldn't call it THE saddest song, but it's definitely up there on the list.

Not an STP song, or even an actual Weiland song, but VR's cover of Wish You Were Here always gives me chills. Particularly because Weiland dedicated it to Michael after his death.

YES! I love their version.

Velvet Revolver "Messages" is far and away the saddest song Scott has ever sung.
But she'll never really be alone...as long as I'm beside her...

Really? This one is too relaxing to be sad for me anyways.  Dean's solo really spices things up jazz wise and it's really uptempo.  The saddest sounding song the guys have written would probably be Creep.  If I'm down(no pun intended) I end up listening to the slower songs but then they all hold an optimism towards the guitar solo's and the outro's that by the end of it, I'm not sad anymore, that's the beauty of Rob & Dean's music.
Sophisticated yet different, without making a fuss about it.

Yes, sometimes Wonderful seems sad to me. Guess it's up to the mood. It does have some sad lines...
