I'm usually not a big fan of the unplugged thing, but STP changed my mind.  I loved all of it!

what did you think of it?

i really liked sex type thing and didnt really see a point to doing creep. they didnt really change it that much

I liked Creep, plus they needed to fill up that air time. The whole show was great. I really wish that No Memory/Sin had gotten recorded, though. That woulda been sweet!

It was a great set for that particular time in their career. And yes, if Sin were somehow available I think that would have been the show stopper.

I wish they would've gotten to do it again after they had a bigger catalog of songs to choose from.  I think their acoustic interpretations of their songs have always sounded great.

I really miss the acoustic set as part of the live performace.  I'm not sure why they took that part out of the set - they were one of the few bands I can think of that did something like that.  It was very unique and very true to STP - I remember Scott introducing the acoustic set:

"Now we're going to break it down into the natural element that it was composed in..."

Very, very cool.  And very much missed.
How could they not notice it?! Because it's a little mint.  It's a Junior Mint!

...it was!  And they did it at every single show!  Which is why I'm so confused as to why it was ever removed.  Everyone fucking loved it.

Say, I don't suppose anyone has seen or heard of that VH1 Storytellers performance on the web as a torrent or download, video or audio (audio is fine actually - then I can take it with me!)

Its too damn short to release all by itself. It was 30 minutes with commercials. If Andy Warhol and Big Empty were on it, that'd put it close to the 30 minute mark again, which id far too short for a cd.

I agree. The Unplugged shows aren't about changing the songs. They are about playing them acoustically, which in some cases requires rearrangment. I don't see a problem with playing an acoustic song as it was written if it was originally an acoustic song. Some of the heavier stuff requires rearrangement though and that's what I think really showcases the talent of a band.
