Scott Weiland in Toronto
« on: August 27, 2010, 03:51:40 AM »
On Sunday August 29th, ExploreMusic’s Alan Cross will sit down with Scott Weiland, the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, live on the main floor of The Bay on Queen Street, here in Toronto.

It’s all part of launching English Laundry apparel in Canada. Scott himself has a line of clothing within in the brand and he and Alan will talk rock n’ roll fashion, all things STP and much more.

If you’re an STP fan, this is an event you won’t want to miss. The interview will start promptly at 230 pm, and will be followed by an English Laundry fashion show (Scott came up with the concept for the fashion show himself).

If you have a question for Scott, we’ll try and get it answered, either leave a comment below or tweet the question to @exploremusic.

We can’t wait to see you at this event. Come early to make sure you get in!

Thanks for the news!
I asked:
Scott, your music partner Doug Grean reported that you are recording the Xmas album. Can you tell us something about this project?
Also, looking at the fact that it will likely come out this Christmas, are your memoirs, the live record and “Happy In Galoshes” re-release still going to come out this year?
Can you tell us about your experience of working with Carlos Santana on the “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” cover from his upcoming album “Guitar Heaven”?

My comment  is awaiting moderation, so it's not yet visible on their site  :)
Can we really find
A lovely magic place we dream of?

Nice!
Is it radio? TV? Sorry if it's too obvious and I'm missing it.

Tyrant you beat me with that Santana question :P

Thanks. So I don't get why they call it a "live (& in person) interview"

@exploremusic DeLeo brothers from STP are solid duo. Is there a better pair of brothers in rock today? Please don't say Eddie and Alex Van Halen

@exploremusic Definitely no lip syncing here. Scott is on point!!

@exploremusic The only people sitting at the ACC are um, you know, um, rockin' herbs for STP. Otherwise everyone is rockin the joint! Hot Show!

@exploremusic One of the top 5 front men of 90s. Still rockin' it!

Enjoying the videos, thanks for posting. Scott's speech is still really drawn out. It really takes him a long time to articulate his thoughts. I keep hoping for the articulate Scott from 2001 to show back up.

I can't help but think of Michael J Fox when I see Scott in an intimate interview like this. Perhaps Scott is simply very uncomfortable in public forums like this. Props to Alan Cross for keeping the interview moving along. Scott is my idol but man, he is a tough interview.

What the hell happened to him? Honestly, I just don't get it. He stopped the heroin in 2002, sounded coherent right up until even 2008 after his coke bender. And for some reason, even being off the drugs, his speech ability and coherence has deteriorated to such a low. He seems totally out of it. Even at the show last night, he just seemed so out of it. It took him 20 seconds to say "we recorded this in our producer's friend's living room". Maybe it isn't so bad right here today, but if this continues where is he going to be in 2-3 years?

The interview will start promptly at 230 pm. . .

LOL. I am dying. The last time anything started proptly with Mr. Weiland was in 1996. Sounds cool though.

LOL watch Scott when the models are walking around.  He looks so pissed off for no reason whatsoever.

Thank god, Scott said something about the Xmas record.
So he'll cover the "Little Drummer Boy". It was covered by David Bowie and Bing Crosby as well.
