This thread is cracking me up
haha I'll have to join you here. This is the best blown out of proportion thread! I thought we all thought it wasn't anything serious. It became a ball of seriousness.

thats too bad... stp and soundgarden are two of my favorite bands. i must say though... the soundgarden reunion is looking a lot better than the stp reunion. i hope that doesnt sound blasphemous.
Do you like STP? Check out my band! We're heavily STP-influenced. http://dropdeadsixtymusic.bandcamp.com/

None of these bands would resurrect, unless there was still a demand for them. I guess a lot of these guys have thought, oh well, my heyday is gone, so I might aswell do some other musical project (like Mike Patton with a gazillion different bands...)then it might come as a slight surprise that people are still interested in FNM/SG/STP, and that alone can give them the confidence to go back to where they left. And to my understanding, the break-ups of bands like Soundgarden etc. weren't that messy, but everyone just wanted to do something else for a while, but then someone makes a good offer, and it's "why not".
They've seen their club days long ago, why go back to that? But (as in stp's case) "wanna make a million dead presidents?" sure, why not! it's a win win situation, and even though every show might not be the most fun to do, atleast I've got the picture that stp still enjoy majorly what they do and would they be weeks away from their families if they got paid a six pack of beer?

I´m not sure if it´s really true but if it´s, I can easily summarize in only one word: Jealousy!

What? I fell out of my Soundgarden phase years ago, so this is coming from a completely unbiased fan: What would they have to be jealous about? They still have a devoted fan base like STP, still sold a lot of records in the 90s, etc.

No offense, but that's one of the most biased remarks I've ever heard on this forum, since you have literally no ground on why they would think that and are only assuming.

~Jeremy~

As I previously said, not sure about the veracity. Actually I don´t even care. It was just a random statement. They´re fucking and drinking with our money.

But anyway, would you be able to give me a better reason to somebody trashes people than jealousy?
Whatever they say I am, that's what I'm not!

This is pretty much all Spin wants to do. They want some sort of conflict to stir between two bands so maybe they can write lyrics about them? I dunno. It's just nonsense, a hickory dichotomy, if you will.

I'm glad Cameron pushed it off and told the truth. The media loves twisting words around to make them the total opposite of intentions.

At this point it really brings me to wonder how much Matt Cameron, Scott Weiland, Chris Cornell, Dean and Rob.... etc etc..... really give a shit about this.

Bucktooth cleared it up, he's a fan.

If there is a demand for "reunion" tours, then by all means go for it.  And by demand I mean the ability to make money.

The real risk is putting out new music years later.  Don't want to saturate the catalogue with crap.  STP new music = Thumbs up.  SG new music = ?

That Timbaland solo album was a train wreck.  Scary bad.
Trampled under sole of another man's shoes cause I walked too softly.  But in my defense, he was a Macho Pendejo.

Songs are emotions in sonic form and I had a lot of emotions at the time. And each of those emotions inspires its own sound."- Scott Weiland on recording "12 Bar Blues" album
